> It’s for this reason I see this as a failing of the legal system. If a website is so abhorrent as to be illegal, then you should be able to open an investigation, and investigators should be able to get warrants to seize the site hosting structure and take it down.
They have been investigated a lot over the years, the operator works with law-enforcement to provide the information they request, and the moderators are pretty quick at removing any illegal content. One can argue that the police concluding that there's nothing illegal going on is because of their incompetence, but it's more likely that the US holds the 1A sacred and has no legal reason to take it down.
Want to provide any examples? Seems like the comments are mostly about CF going back on their policies, laughing at Twitter celebrating them being down for 30 minutes, and calling the account that posted the 'threat' an idiot.
Which, again, is one persons word vs. the JP and US governments. Not that the governments never lie, but I somehow doubt there's an international conspiracy to shield KF from criticism.
The recoding from the MTG SWATing is available on the internet. The caller used TTS, and called back to the police after the SWATing-attempt to explain their motivation and claim to be a moderator on KF. It is as ridiculous as it sounds.
The reason originally given was that they "misgendered" them. The chief released a statement saying that he had personally reviewed all recordings and found no evidence of this. Also made a statement that they knocked on Keffals door, and took them into custody without any issues, in direct contradiction to Keffals statement about waking up with an assault rifle in their face from the 'SWATing'.
Worth noting that as part of the police detaining them, they also confiscated their phone and hard-drives. Which might explain why they are 'fleeing' all over the world except to Canada..
Actually, a mod checked the logs to find that the post was deleted by the poster 2-3 minutes after Keffals screenshot and Tweeted it. So it was up just long enough to serve its purpose.
KF admins Telegram: "Cloudflare's decision to block the site was done without any discussion. The message I've received is a vague suspension notice. The message from Matthew Prince is unclear. If there is any threat to life on the site, I have received no communication from any law enforcement."
Not going against your point, just that there is no need for Cloudflare to provide the government info on a site that already provides the government with info.
What's interesting about their SWATing is that the police took them in for questioning and confiscated their phone and hard-drives. Can anyone think of a single SWATing where the police showed up, noticed that there was no hostage/slaughter, and started collecting evidence / detained the victim? A victim that then raised $100K to flee the country and 'go into hiding' while Tweeting about their current location, planned future locations (never going back to the country that detained them though for some reason)..
> Do we know they actually cut KF off without notice? Also no - it's possible this is after they gave KF's operator time to respond.
From the Admins Telegram: "Cloudflare's decision to block the site was done without any discussion. The message I've received is a vague suspension notice. The message from Matthew Prince is unclear. If there is any threat to life on the site, I have received no communication from any law enforcement."
Maybe, but people shitposting about blowing up half a city just to annoy a streamer doesn't really sound like the kind of threat that would make a company do a 180 on their position..
The operator posted this on Telegram: "Cloudflare's decision to block the site was done without any discussion. The message I've received is a vague suspension notice. The message from Matthew Prince is unclear. If there is any threat to life on the site, I have received no communication from any law enforcement."
The forum already deletes anything illegal (in the US) and hands out info to law-enforcement when asked.
The operator posted this on their Telegram: "Cloudflare's decision to block the site was done without any discussion. The message I've received is a vague suspension notice. The message from Matthew Prince is unclear. If there is any threat to life on the site, I have received no communication from any law enforcement."
Guess we should take down traditional media as well then when they dox LibsOfTiktok and other creators so that the Twitter mob can harass and SWAT them, since they can't hide behind 'journalism'. Or does it only apply to the bad guys?
> the terrorist who killed worshippers at the mosques in New Zealand posted on Kiwi Farms before the attacks.
I think you misread the Wikipedia page. Kiwifarms got in the news for refusing to remove the video as it was not breaking any laws. Not for supporting / encouraging him.
If there's anyone I'd trust on stats it's the IRS and related agencies. Also, no Americans dying in a country that's been strict on lockdowns for the past year seems plausible, especially if the average when people could freely come and go was < 12 a year.
You said to read the forum, I did. Saw no comments about politics, threads of people laughing at both sides of the political spectrum (with the majority of threads being apolitical). So where's these 'far-right' people hiding?
Cloudflare didn't respond to their tweets demanding removal of DDoS protection, police informed them that sharing public content and laughing at you is not illegal. Of-course the next step would be trying to frame them for political extremism against protected groups (reason Cloudflare dropped Stormfront) and SWATing (illegal), both at the same time.
Targeting a politician they don't like in-case it actually worked breaks the narrative and makes the red-flag more obvious though..
