coffeeri··on Cannoli: The Fast QEMU Tracer
It's great to see new projects in this space! I wonder if you have compared Cannoli to panda [0]. If so, what was the outcome - especially regarding the performance?

coffeeri··on Hetzner Storage Share and Storage Box: Data storage and management made easy
The storage shares are nextcloud instances. The storage boxes on the other hand can only be accessed via SCP, FTP, SFTP, rsync, borg, WebDAV and smb.
coffeeri··on Redis vs. Kafka vs. RabbitMQ
I was including NATS Jetstream, which has exactly-once message delivery [0].

coffeeri··on Redis vs. Kafka vs. RabbitMQ
Especially if you want one-to-many connections, exactly once delivery and push/ pull consumers, it is worth checking out nats [0, 1]. It is very performant. There are clients for Javascript, Python, Rust and Go [2]. (I am not affiliated with them)

coffeeri··on Show HN: Hippobase – easily self-host open source databases
Agree, "self-hosting" suggests it being a tool, that creates and provisions databases on my own hardware-infrastructure and not on AWS.
coffeeri··on Ripgrep 13.0
Also consider installing ripgrep-all [1], an extension making it possible to search through PDFs, eBooks, ZIPs and other documents. The integration with fzf is also fantastic!

coffeeri··on Show HN: Shepherd.com – Discover books in a new way, like wandering a bookstore
I feel more or less the same way. But forcing myself to stick to one or two books at a time helped me. Eventually you will catch the fun in it. I also find audiobooks to be my favorite format for consuming books, as I can do it at any place and listen at my desired speed.
coffeeri··on ArchiveBox: Open-source self-hosted web archiving
It is quiet convenient to combine the two. You are able to export your wallabag list via RSS and import it on a schedule in archivebox.
coffeeri··on Apache Helix – Near-Realtime Rsync Replicated File System
I wouldn't consider this as a backup solution, more as one for high-availability of data.
coffeeri··on Apple WWDC Keynote
I'd say it's the answer to Google play Instant.

coffeeri··on CapRover: Build your own PaaS
There is someone working recently on swarmlet (https://github.com/swarmlet/swarmlet) - a Dokku inspired Docker swarm solution.

Swarmlet seems to be very young and not production ready. Still, I am exited to see how this project will evolve with time.

coffeeri··on Problems that forced me to leave ProtonVPN for Mullvad
To complement the list above, use a private vpn, hosted at home, to access devices and services which are only accessable from home, while being on a remote location. I use it to access my server environment.
