coconutrandom··on Instead of eating lunch out every day, buy 4 iPads
Well we wouldn't want to be seen as wasteful would we?
coconutrandom··on A C Heisenbug in the wild
Woah... so this is coercing it to a string and the address in hex is being compared. Am I off on this?
coconutrandom··on Large German lobby organization supports ban on Bitcoins
I agree. But that seems a bit too intuitive for tax laws anywhere haha
coconutrandom··on Large German lobby organization supports ban on Bitcoins
Where a thousand units won't move the market?
coconutrandom··on Large German lobby organization supports ban on Bitcoins
Would taxes be paid on generated bitcoins? or just transactions?
coconutrandom··on Large German lobby organization supports ban on Bitcoins
If it gets to the point you can do a significant number of transactions in bitcoin, it should hopefully be to a stable exchange rate.
coconutrandom··on Higher-Dimensional Type Theory
For a second I was imagining Helvetica in 4D+

Hyde doesn't actually use django despite what the homepage says.
coconutrandom··on ClearCoin safer bitcoin transactions
So this give the option of chargebacks? This seems to be much less safe for merchants.
coconutrandom··on Loud. Arrogant. Rebellious. Asian.
Meh, after reading the article this seems OT.
coconutrandom··on Loud. Arrogant. Rebellious. Asian.
It's more than just the plumbing. Emotionally/hormonally women are different. Everyone should be treated _fairly_ but not interchangeably.

After a deep (albeit brief) introspection, I am quite happy to pull out chairs, open doors, offer an arm on the stairs, and date women.

[note the submitted link seems to be down I have yet to read the article]

coconutrandom··on Why no looting in Japan?
Not a disaster quite, but in Houston everyone evacuated from the hurricane and no one I knew reported any looting happening.
coconutrandom··on Download Our Latest Free Report: Engaging Online Communities
Is something wrong with plain pdfs? I cannot even view the slides without giving up info.
coconutrandom··on What does it feel like to be stupid? An anonymous Quora user explains.
I'm just happy they still love me unconditionally even though they don't get half of my jokes and of most of what I say during the day.
coconutrandom··on Scientists propose one-way trips to Mars
Or colonize it like Australia was.
coconutrandom··on World's largest association of pilots boycotts body scanners
I'm pretty sure that argument should be reserved for possible war crimes and not frisking people.
coconutrandom··on Why Diaspora will fail
Ugh, this post is irritating. Did you fund Disporia? No? then why do you care about its success? or its funding? or the buzzwords? or whatever?

Let them try before condemning them to failure.

"By the way, what have you done that’s so great? Do you... just criticize others work and belittle their motivations?"

coconutrandom··on Relativity gives gold its color
Thanks for the relatively (lol) concise response. But really, thanks.
coconutrandom··on 5" Android Tablet $155
it'd be cool if you could keep the keyboard physically attached, maybe with a hinge mechanism of sorts.
coconutrandom··on Timelapse Photography with your spare Ubuntu Box and Digital Camera
er... you'd leave your laptop unattended? but not a camera?
coconutrandom··on Vagrant: A tool for building and distributing virtual development environments
This is so useful!!! I've been doing this manually for a select number of important projects. However, I'm not a Rails dev.

What would it take to work with [language/framework]?

I've skimmed over the docs and here [http://vagrantup.com/docs/getting-started/setup.html] it seems like instead of

  rails init
I could run

  django-admin startproject

coconutrandom··on Secrets of octopus intelligence
from the comment:

"Turns out, on a scale of one to chimpanzee, octopuses are
probably somewhere close to matching wits with a dog"
Interesting numbering system -- is one the only digit?
coconutrandom··on Make something and sell it
2dBoy was more of an example of smart game developers changing with the times and gating paid. And for a while it was free (as in beer) if a customer wanted.

The reason I doubt it means opensource because that's the equivalent to musicians handing over their source files.

Ultimately those who can adapt, will adapt. And they will inspire others.

coconutrandom··on Make something and sell it
Who said anything about opensource? The issue at hand is closed source and profit.

And check out 2dBoy.
