>I haven't set an alarm for work in years, can buy what I want without too much consideration, mostly work when I feel like it, and the work I do is often interesting.
You are doing better than 99% of people who have ever lived!

It seems you can only get a refund by reporting a problem, which means if your app works as described you shouldn't be able to request a refund.
This was the best quote from the article for me. In my experience as a casual news watcher, the messaging about the virus has finally unified into a simple, easy to digest one in the last month (masks help, continue to social distance, etc.). But for the first few months of this all the articles about Covid particles living on every surface for weeks and then the even more nonsensical stories about pets getting Covid thinned out the whole message so much that I empathize with people who didn't take it seriously.
I would like to second this, if your schedule allows it. Attempting to make sense of a large codebase (that likely has much domain-specific and even historical reasoning within) when you are inexperienced and/or new to the domain can be a much better experience if the information flows as freely as possible from the expert to the new person.
You'd take a survey about your interests and/or things you're in the market for then you would get a monthly email with a variety of targeted ads. Over a year ago I wrote down in my "ideas" notebook "privacy respecting opt-in email advertisements" but then when I looked at it again later on I thought "I don't think anyone would sign up for this" haha.
