chipgap98··on Supabase raises $200M Series D at $2B valuation
Right but they run on AWS. So AWS is making money every time someone uses Vercel or Supabase
chipgap98··on The Agent2Agent Protocol (A2A)
I think that's true in the same way Shirley from accounting isn't going to setup an OAuth token to allow her productivity app to access her calendar. With the right abstractions she can do that without needing to understand what she is doing technically
chipgap98··on Harvard's response to federal government letter demanding changes
> Harvard's performance and reputation have tanked as a result of its anti-meritocratic policies

Do you have data to back this up?

chipgap98··on Everything wrong with MCP
Static in what sense?
chipgap98··on Show HN: Lunon – Instant model switching across LLMs
You have early access to the o4 models?
chipgap98··on The Agent2Agent Protocol (A2A)
They are pitching this as complementary to the MCP [0], but I don't see it. What is the value in agents communicating in agents as opposed to just treating other agents as tools?

chipgap98··on Gemini 2.5
> This will mark the first experimental model with higher rate limits + billing. Excited for this to land and for folks to really put the model through the paces! From https://x.com/OfficialLoganK/status/1904583353954882046
chipgap98··on Gemini 2.5
Right but the tweet I was responding to says: "This will mark the first experimental model with higher rate limits + billing. Excited for this to land and for folks to really put the model through the paces!"

I assumed that meant there was a paid version with a higher rate limit coming out today

chipgap98··on Gemini 2.5
Any word on what that pricing is? I can't seem to find it
chipgap98··on Claude 3.7 Sonnet and Claude Code
Yeah I think that's very doable for a business but it gets expensive if you are just tinkering
chipgap98··on U Pittsburgh pauses all PhD admissions amid DOGE funding cuts
Is there a stat or place I can read more about that? I hear people throw throw the idea of administrative bloat around a lot but would be interested to see data behind that
chipgap98··on Show HN: Mastra – Open-source JS agent framework, by the developers of Gatsby
I think most JS frameworks save more than 5% of the effort for developers compared to writing raw JS. Especially when you include the ecosystem around those frameworks
chipgap98··on Valve releases Team Fortress 2 code
And Valve should get rid of item trading because it could potentially be used this way?

Edit: this is a genuine question. What is the solution here?

chipgap98··on Launch HN: Promptless (YC W25) – Automatic updates for customer-facing docs
Congrats on the launch. This looks great. I could see this being useful for internal documentation at larger companies too
chipgap98··on AI is stifling new tech adoption?
Does that really matter to most companies/developers? I’d much rather have a good enough solution with a large ecosystem built around it. It also takes a lot of investment for companies to change their tech stack
chipgap98··on GitHub Copilot: The Agent Awakens
Ah sorry I missed that part. You are right that this sounds like more replacement for people
chipgap98··on GitHub Copilot: The Agent Awakens
I don't think those are contradictory. The agent is iterating on the code it writes in order to be more useful.
chipgap98··on Republican Congressman Introduces Bill Seeking Abolishment of OSHA
Having a patchwork of safety standards seems like a mess versus a federal policy that applies across the country
chipgap98··on Introducing Operator
I'd much rather them release early than not release at all. By your logic ChatGPT will still be in internal testing and the whole industry would be way behind where it is today
chipgap98··on Operator research preview
Isn't there every reason to believe the cost will come down?
chipgap98··on Bun 1.2 Is Released
I think the argument in favor of S3 is that there are many object storage services that implement an S3-compatible API. I know its not truly a web standard, but it is also something that a lot of people have standardized around.
chipgap98··on Supreme Court rules to uphold TikTok ban, setting stage for shutdown
You honestly believe most of that hasn't already be re-uploaded to other platforms and more of it won't be re-uploaded over the next month?
chipgap98··on Lessons from ingesting millions of PDFs and why Gemini 2.0 changes everything
I have also found the price and accuracy of Gemini 2.0 Flash to be a game changer. Very excited for it to be fully released
chipgap98··on The Origins of Wokeness
Is explaining to children that a man is married to a woman speaking about sexuality? How is that different from saying a man is married to a man?
chipgap98··on Sonos CEO Patrick Spence steps down after disastrous app launch
This seems like a strange gripe for this thread. That is something you could have looked up before purchasing the speaker.

I also might be in the minority but I much prefer Wi-Fi streaming to Bluetooth in my house.

chipgap98··on I am rich and have no idea what to do
Therapy has been absolutely life changing for me. It has helped me manage my anxiety and build a life I’m happy with
chipgap98··on I am rich and have no idea what to do
And they’re doing it while unironically shouting about the tyranny of unelected bureaucrats
chipgap98··on Vultr Raises $333M at $3.5B Valuation
Its only an AI startup if it comes from the AI Startup region of California. Otherwise they are a sparkling independent business
chipgap98··on Canvas
It can only run python code, but it can write other languages
chipgap98··on Show HN: App to discover job listings directly from company websites
That’s definitely violating the spirit of the rule
