I was told this 3 weeks in to an Outward Bound course in the colorado wilderness when I was 18.
It has stayed with me my whole life now (i'm 43!) and I think of it often.
All his wireless printers and his really old iPad (I think gen 1 or 2) refused to connect suddenly a couple weeks ago. No apparent changes or new devices on his network.
Turned out Comcast pushed an update to his wireless gateway that enabled ‘managed security functionality’. Part of this included forcing WPA3 security on all devices.
Once I figured out how to set it back to WPA2 for the 2.4 ghz network, all the old devices reconnected.
Good times :)
Just wait until your BigCo is buying stuff from the consultants/SIs and Adobe/SFDC/IBM/etc and they are all YOUR CLIENTS as well buying tons of services from your company in a totally different market.
"Balance of trade" is the term you'll soon learn about in deal negotiations :)
Get large enough (you will have moved beyond fully insured plans to self ensuring your population long ago) and you'll continue to look at opportunities further down the supply chain in actual healthcare delivery itself to better manage, forecast, and optimize costs.
Primary care and Rx are usually the first place to go.
My guess is this is as much about that dynamic, as it is about buying some good leadership (look at the board/leadership of One Medical and you'll see many familiar faces if you are in heathcare/plan/PBM space).
Will be very interested to see if they keep this mainly in house, or if they begin to scale beyond that.
Are they really going to close all their on-prem datacenters in the next 2 years? Maybe.
More likely, this is a way to build momentum around the transition to cloud. Not a bad strategy, and not uncommon from what I've seen in the enterprise.
I would argue, more lessons to be learned on the way down :)
Do you like 90% margins? Doctors sure do! :)
"We work with Truepill pharmacy, our trusted fulfillment partner to fill your prescriptions. Truepill has a team of accredited pharmacists who will ensure your medication is safe and delivered to your doorstep on time."
Oh, and guess who owns most of TruePill???

There is very little new in the PBM/Pharmacy world from what I've seen, just more layers of redirection and subterfuge :)

Realized after we got it that it's what many of our massage therapists have used over the years in their offices.
My son's is 8 years old and going strong, used every night for peaceful sleep :)
The example I linked, Amerilink data set, I have a copy of (via my company), sitting on our internal corp NAS drive, and it is 100% raw data with PII. Can query on name, mailing address, DOB, etc. We have an unrestricted license that we pay a good chunk for annually.

I've seen this, and many other similar data sets. You can easily look up yourself, your friends, etc.
I have multiple friends from Oracle, IBM, Salesforce, Adobe, etc that are now AEs at Databricks making 3 or 4x total comp they were making previously.
Fun times!
Work in a large F50 and all the enterprise grade ones we've had are decent.
This is the current model they are giving folks:

I've been running an Intel MacBook Pro (last intel version I think) on it the last few months with 2 external HP displays, keyboard, mouse, and it is a solid performer.

All you need to do is serve Google in court and they'll respond, trust me :)
A lot of the stories you hear and see online of this flavor are planted by Google and others to dissuade you from filing simple legal actions!
It made me question reality in a way I hadn't before.
Is all of this pre-determined? Is it arbitrary? Is it random? Is there an underlying meaning here we should recognize?
I came to believe that love, connection, existing itself, were all somehow significant. Hard to say if this is real, or just part of the pattern :)
My guess is this is another carrot to get those workloads migrated kids!
Going to be an interesting week :)
As others have pointed out, Cuban is basically running a lead gen operation that then services customers drug needs via a white labeled site/fulfillment operation run by TruePill.
Any idea who is funding TruePill?
