Isn’t this what enabling "block all third-party cookies without exception" in Chrome or disabling "accept third party cookies" in Firefox does?

The future is hopefully something more secure than client-side hashing, probably SRP, or it’ll be NTLM all over again. It would be nice if web browsers implemented it directly, but until then there are JavaScript libraries like http://server.denksoft.com/wordpress/?page_id=27 .
carey··on What's your take on the save mysql?
I read somewhere recently (here or proggit?) about libdrizzle, which is a BSD-licensed client library that is compatible with the MySQL network protocol. The developers are quite clear that you can use it with their own GPL 2 database server: https://answers.launchpad.net/drizzle/+faq/134

There is a catch, though; if you have the same file open multiple times, even with different names, then closing one file descriptor will release all locks on that file in the same process, even in different threads.

SQLite goes to great lengths to work around this. See: http://www.google.com/search?q=broken+by+design+site:sqlite....

carey··on Why do so many terrorists have engineering degrees?
Which infinity? If you believe in infinite rational numbers, shouldn’t there be a rational number equal to the ratio of a circle’s radius to its circumference?

(I don’t believe in God or infinite universes. Standard Model FTW!)

"REST with JSON" should send the (relative) URL for the next request, not just an ID. Although there's more to it than just that.
carey··on Dulce et Decorum Est
For added poignancy, the author of the poem, Wilfred Owen, was killed one week before the end of the war, and his mother (apocryphally?) received the telegram as the bells rang for the first Armistice Day.
carey··on Subversion moving to the Apache Software Foundation
The awesomeness starts from git init; git add . (or in my case, hg init; hg add). Even if you don't use anything else, this is a big improvement over Subversion.
carey··on A Lesson In Timing Attacks (or, Don't use MessageDigest.isEquals)
Are you sure that (1.0 - time_spent) executes in constant time? Or that sleep() is precise enough?
