You're kind of proving their point. Labor has historically been a government and capital versus the employed. How many times has the national guard been called to quell an executive uprising? None because executives always hold the power and moneyed interests always run the government. The only change in this in the US was the brief history after WW2 where FDR and Truman wielded outsize political power and the country saw the ills of the gilded age because of the enormous impact felt by the average person during the great depression. To answer your question directly there are most definitely executives tied to organized crime. Organized crime is more organized now and less violent. The Sopranos is basically based on this. The industries that organized crime generally controls are blue collar industries. People don't need to disappear anymore, they just look like regular deaths.
This right here is called "Muddying the waters" you're making an assertion without proof but claiming that the lack between what we know and what we don't know is evidence enough that we should believe the accusation without proof. That's plainly absurd.
If you're big enough you have teams of lawyers on staff. It costs you literally nothing extra. If you're not big enough to have staff lawyers you're not big. Small businesses are pretty much everyone else. You can't polish a turd, and this system as well as the copyright system are a giant turd that's antithetical to the original intent of the law.
But...they explain it in the Snopes article. Did you not read the article while making a claim about them being disingenuous?
From the article:
However, a number of factors were elided in that report. The value of donated hair when applied to actual hairpieces provided to children relied on a projection, not actual processing and manufacturing costs...92% of the charity’s expenses allocated to program costs. Less than 7% of expenses went to administrative costs and salaries, and CEO Linda Borum’s most recently listed salary (for fiscal year 2015) was a modest $64,866.
Additionally if LOL charged patients in the past they claim to not do so now in their FAQ.
Chicken is significantly easier than beef to make mock analogues. Quorn, tofurkey, lightlife, and all kinds of other companies make very convincing turkey and chicken. Impossible seems to be the only real beef analogue that's semi-enjoyed by meat eaters. I haven't found many long term vegans/vegetarians that like it. I personally didn't find it fulfilling.
The dollar is already losing the battle to maintain its status as the world's currency. The current administration policy of hostility towards our European allies has increased flight from the dollar. China's ascendancy will continue that flight until the inevitable US/China/Russia war.
Everything she accomplished has been rolled back or is in the process of being rolled back. Democrats have not had solid staying power or the ability to get things done at a congressional level in my lifetime. You literally have the least productive congress in history in place dominated by Republicans and there is no clear, strong message from the Democratic party. If Democrats hope to ever regain political clout, they need to take a serious look at where they are versus where they would like to be and find out what is causing that delta. They certainly haven't captured the message, everything that is being done today is reactionary.
Trump voters have not shown that there is a line that they will not accept from the President. As long as he does it, he gains approval, regardless of any real outcomes. I think people expecting a blue wave are in for a rough shock when actual election results come in. Trump voters are loyal, and more importantly, show up to vote instead of just talking about how they wish they could change something.
At least until Steam decides to stop hosting a popular game. Then the outcry will be real and people will decide that they own what they buy law be damned.
As someone who has, on multiple occasions been required to watch pornography as a part of my job, I cannot fathom how people think that this kind of culture is acceptable in a workplace. It's one thing to have to deal with sexual content, especially in mixed genders, it's an entirely different thing to then turn your workplace into a sexual haven. Unless your job is specifically in the sex trades, there's no reason to ever unzip your pants in front of a co-worker male or female. Keep your privates private. If you really feel the need to masturbate at work there are private stalls in most workplaces that would serve this purpose just fine. The fact that this kind of thing still needs to be said boggles my mind.
Without attempting to make a joke, wouldn't a better place to store a doc like this be and of the following: Google Docs, O365, Dropbox, Box.com, Zoho, or basically ANY syste designed for file sharing with specific external customers? AWS isn't really meant to function on it's own as a file sharing service, though there are services that could have been made on AWS for this purpose.
You just shot your own argument against his point in the foot. Thousands of people doesn't even make up a percentage point of the users of Android. Most people on Android use Google Play because it's sufficient against the threats that they need to it be sufficient against. Most people are okay with the risk/reward ratios that come with using commercial software because they then don't have to think about it. Signal provides a nearly turnkey level of protection above and beyond standard messaging in an easy enough format for most people to use.
$125 seems about mid or upper mid range for Sr Devs based on data from Salary.com. Architects can make over 170K on the top end. Not sure how recent your data is but there's a real crunch for talent up here these days.
This is a manager who doesn't understand what they are asking or the complexity involved. I suppose the appropriate response should be that time to completion depends on the accuracy needed of the final 3D model as it's going to take a few months minimum to learn entirely different skill sets, oh and you'll need to include the hardware and compute costs for the storage and rendering time. Also you'll need either a sim card or a physical base station for the drone with an internet link. I..uh...may like trying to solve problems.
And that forgets that Tony Stark came from a wealthy family and inherited his wealth and made most of his money off of taxpayers through defense contractors. We only like him because he finally started to do something other than starlets or for himself.
It just became $11 in 2017 and that's only for non-service workers. Tipped workers still only make $3.75 and STILL have to pay taxes as if they were fully compensated. Tipping needs to go.
I have literally worked putting paper into boxes for $13/hour. Granted that was decent money, but it definitely made me a lot more loyal and willing to look the other way when the company needed a favor.
The thing that really bothers me about this is that there's zero reason for something like a voting machine to not have at least a minimal paper trail and proper air gapping. Municipal townships should not be putting anything online without hiring a professional company that's actually required to maintain standards (such as bill pay). Since most poll workers are volunteers, there's zero way that this is possible. Using magnetic cards that aren't good enough for financial transactions doensn't pass muster. Voting should be at least if not more secure than financial transactions.
And it also ceases to address the fact that many of the Confederate statues were put up specifically to honor those who fought because the people who put up the statues didn't believe blacks should have civil rights and that the erections happened well after the civil war.
So what you do is you write out the stories in blog posts, this builds your audience over time, as long as you're regular generally you'll get a gathering. Then you take all the posts from a year and package them together into a single book so it's only a little more effort on your part, just be honest to your fans what it is. (It's mostly a collection of what's here with better formatting and some pictures. Plus you'll be supporting the blog!!!) Get on a podcast or four, you'll have people asking for you at a certain point, plus you're interesting. Worst case send a pitch to them with your content, you're basically doing a huge part of their work for them. You'll definitely get some offers and money. Best part is you'll be inspiring other people who will live vicariously through you or make some kid feel less alone growing up. Totally guiltless and people will pay you for it.
HSBC was literally knowingly laundering cartel money and funding mass murder and got a wrist slap for it. Banks literally drove the global economy into a tailspin with greed and the US taxpayer got the privilege of bailing them out and paying bonuses to the executives. Some minimal protections were put in, but even those were too much for them so they're having the Republicans roll them back for them. America is a country that has ceased being a functioning democracy or society based on actual capitalism. It sure is nice to think about the good ol' days though right?
I haven't had a local branch for my credit union in over 13 years. I get money from any ATM I want and my bank reimburses any fees. My credit union is owned by it's members which doesn't give it perverse incentives to screw ourselves over. I've been able to scan my checks from home since before most big banks had mobile apps. We've gotten emergency loans from them expedited on a Friday afternoon to cover surgeries. Good banking does exist, you just have to take the time to actually look for ones built on values instead of greed.
Generally fasting under 2 weeks is considered safe. The stomach does not have a problem being in an acidic environment, it's always in acid. What some people report is heartburn or acid reflux, which can be damaging to the throat lining however it's usually temporary or treatable. Keep in mind people have been fasting safely, whether intentionally or not since before history. Our bodies are capable of handling many feast/famine cycles.
Pseudonyms exist for a reason. Though I suspect those involved would know who you were, minus the NDA. It's not worth it to breach the NDA, but the rest? If you can sling together a coherent story, you've probably got solid book. You've got the start with an eager person getting into games out of love, turning it into an obsession where you strayed into the dark side, followed by how it made you feel empty and want to people "connected to people again (guildhall), and finally how this made you realize your passion all over again and turn it into a profession. This is a book people would read.
I stopped editing once I realized what gets onto Wikipedia has absolutely nothing to do with facts and more to do with opinion. I even had edits removing links to malware reverted automatically when logged in because some chucklehead locked down the topic.
So it seems like the backbone exists and gets used heavily. The next step would be a way for person to person transfers of money and person to business, business to person, etc. It seems like business to business already does, the major piece left out is a consumer account. i.e. there's no card you can use to directly send money from your account to your kid at college. Everything still requires some company as an intermediary.
I had this same thought when I was heavy into Google/Android. I was running on G Suite, and frankly didn't like the way Google was going. I own my own domain name, run off of Zoho which gives me more features that I use for the same/less money, but the system hasn't been without weirdness. Syncing between all of my different devices doesn't really work right using their ActiveSync option. i.e. my iPhone doesn't sync deleted emails back to the main server and unless I run the sync tool my desktop doesn't either. There are options though, but everything is a privacy/ease of use trade off. Things that give you more privacy and control tend to come with more actions you personally need to take.
Edit: A Plex server is a really easy way to back up photos from multiple devices as it syncs and you can control that entirely in house.
