canadiantim··on Herdr: Agent multiplexer that lives in your terminal
I'm interested but it doesn't look like it'd be very mobile-friendly.
canadiantim··on Turn your site into a place people can bump into each other
But then you have to deal with social media regulators and arbiters and be subject to untold liability
canadiantim··on Show HN: OpenKnowledge – open source AI-first alternative to Obsidian/Notion
Interesting using tiptap with codemirror, i guess to get around that tiptap doesn’t really support html very well but a shame that we need to use two editors to get the complete experience. Still, nicely done!
canadiantim··on Anthropic says Alibaba illicitly extracted Claude AI model capabilities
Glm 5.2 very much argues against that. Opus 4.8 level quality for cheap. That’s sufficient for most tasks, so if/when you do need SOTA models you can spend more for specific tasks but otherwise rely on the cheap but still plenty good models for everything else
canadiantim··on Show HN: Teach your kids perfect pitch
Nice Quebec rock finding its way in the world!
canadiantim··on GLM 5.2 Is Out
Any idea how kimi2.7 compares with GLM5.2?
canadiantim··on Replies to comments on my "LLMs are eroding my career" post
May I ask what are some of methods you’re using for this level of productivity?
canadiantim··on When AI Builds Itself: Our progress toward recursive self-improvement
People already rebuilt Claude Code in Rust after the Claude Code leak, it's on github as claw code (and other variants)

Tinker tailor fold or die?
canadiantim··on DeepSeek reasonix, DeepSeek native coding agent with high caching and low cost
So what's best low cost coding agent these days? Kimi 2.6? Qwen's latest closed model? Composer 2.5? DeepSeek?
canadiantim··on Alberta to hold referendum on whether to remain in Canada
Pretty sure Quebec would have to break apart in order to separate too
canadiantim··on Alberta to hold referendum on whether to remain in Canada
If you want to understand why Alberta is holding a referendum on whether they should hold another separate legally-binding referendum in the future, you have to look at the recent court case where a judge in Alberta ruled that one of the two main petitions wasn’t allowed to proceed (The one that specifically called for a legally-binding referendum). The judges stated reason is that First Nations were not adequately consulted (interesting how this never came up in the Quebec referendums). As a result, the premier of Alberta suggested that until they appeal that court case that they cannot have a legally binding referendum. As such, for now, all they cannot do is a non-legally binding referendum on whether they should hold a legally binding referendum once they court case becomes resolved.
canadiantim··on Mycorrhizal Fungi, Nature's Key to Plant Survival and Success
It's more like the free market, but with all of the market failures, parasites and bad actors that implies too
canadiantim··on Show HN: CPU-only transcription for YouTube, TikTok, X, Instagram videos
Nice. Can it do speaker diarization?
canadiantim··on Show HN: Files.md – Open-source alternative to Obsidian
You’re AIright
canadiantim··on Venom and Hot Peppers Offer a Key to Killing Resistant Bacteria
I suspect the symbol has deeper roots than that, though you are likely right about the snake venom being used then to treat illness.
canadiantim··on Show HN: Stage CLI – An easier way of reading your AI generated changes locally
Cool, simple demo that concisely shows the value. I’ll give it a whirl. Cheers and good luck, seems great
canadiantim··on Reverse-engineering the 1998 Ultima Online demo server
Sometimes i just put on the title music ("Stones") just for that hit of nostalgia
canadiantim··on Durable queues, streams, pub/sub, and a cron scheduler – inside your SQLite file
Could this work with Turso, the SQLite rust rewrite?
canadiantim··on Claude.ai unavailable and elevated errors on the API
oh-my-pi harness fixes many of these, like subagents
canadiantim··on Ask HN: Who is using OpenClaw?
Openclaw simply makes the effectiveness of working with claude code and similar available to a broader audience that hadn't been exposed to it before. Sure Cowork does similar, but I believe that's still why Openclaw became so popular.
canadiantim··on Show HN: Real-time dashboard for Claude Code agent teams

Not to mention the tricky question of what happens to your consciousness during and after this process?

Most likely they're just preserving the tissue, but not the consciousness

canadiantim··on OpenCode – Open source AI coding agent
Sure but will you get banned by anthropic anyway?
canadiantim··on Get Shit Done: A meta-prompting, context engineering and spec-driven dev system
No worries if it's untenable or too much though, but I'll keep an eye on the commend thread in case!

For my part, I'm currently using oh-my-opencode harness with various skills extracted and tailored from superpowers / simonw / matt pocock. Working well enough so far, but keen to really evolve the skill flow and how they connect and are used in coordination with the various subagents.

canadiantim··on Get Shit Done: A Meta-Prompting, Context Engineering and Spec-Driven Dev System
That would be awesome. I believe with AI it's all about tailoring everything to your specific workflow and style, especially anything to do with the dev environment.
canadiantim··on Get Shit Done: A Meta-Prompting, Context Engineering and Spec-Driven Dev System
I use Oh-My-Opencode (Now called Oh-My-OpenAgent), but it's effectively the same as GSD, but better imo
canadiantim··on Get Shit Done: A meta-prompting, context engineering and spec-driven dev system
you don't have to maintain it. Especially in the age of ai, just giving people inspiration and something to vibe from is more than sufficient and appreciated
canadiantim··on Show HN: Claude Code skills that build complete Godot games
Very impressive! Looks great!
canadiantim··on Obsession with growth is destroying nature, 150 countries warn
Or biology class to learn that resources grow linearly (arithmetically) but populations grow geometrically (exponentially). So it is possible for everyone to grow exponentially, it's just not sustainable and generally leads to mass famine, disease or war.
