120k is middle class and considered underachieving? She needs a dose of reality.

I know that salaries in Canada are advertised in what you would make before taxes/CPP/EI, which usually come out to 17-26% less for most mere mortals.

With the only caveat being to get that next contract.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, it is the way to go. You just need the constant stream of work, which is easier said then done.

Hope not. Another Canadian company sold off would suck. Losing a phone that I could do Java Mobile on would be the cherry on that sundae.

They also use those rooms for tourists as well in the summer.

Doesn't surprise me they're pressuring. What does surprise me is that we didn't capitulate the moment they asked. Now that's change I can believe in while it lasts.

This is something that, as someone that is looking to get into the whole consulting business (yes I must be insane), found quite interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I suddenly have less of a craving for a steak all of a sudden.

Ya they didn't specify remote only (it's the only ones that I looked at previously) but didnt' see the consolidation attempt that follower mentioned. My bad.

Agreed. Or at least have a sortable system that would allow us to say only have remote jobs appear (for those of us that are interested in only that segment of the marketplace)

Sneakers as well. The world of cryptography is still as murky and interesting as it was back then. Doubt we'll find a key to everything in an answering machine though. :D
