bvttf··on HTML 5: Could it kill Flash and Silverlight?
Okay, so maybe don't fuck silverlight and give us <video> to attack flash from both ends? And a pony?
bvttf··on HTML 5: Could it kill Flash and Silverlight?
Man, fuck silverlight, Microsoft should kill flash by pushing HTML5. It's not like they need to gain much marketshare, just not-lose it.
bvttf··on Google Chrome update: faster, some bugs and a few new features

bvttf··on Y Combinator is prohibited
That's what happened here, it was even blocked as category: hacking. Only lasted about a week, though. Comforting in a way that they had a human check.
bvttf··on Help rid the world of IE6 with one line of javascript
I think it's a demo that comes up for everything.
bvttf··on ASUS is considering Android-based Eee PCs
I'd like it because I want an ARM netbook, I'm pretty excited by nVidia's moves towards that too.

It's kind of a hard question because you've only told us you're using XP, not really for what (besides office). I'd be nice if Android apps got more interesting because of this, but that's kind of speculative. It'll have some nifty touchscreen support so we might eventually get a tablet that doesn't cost way too much.

I haven't really used Android much, though. Is the web browser tolerable? It might be nice to have a browser that had a good zooming interface when using it on a smaller netbook screen.

bvttf··on I want my next phone to have 2.5 times more pixels than the iPhone. And it might.
This is about screen resolution. The article doesn't even mention cameras.
bvttf··on iReddit: The official Reddit iPhone app arrives
Of course!
bvttf··on iReddit: The official Reddit iPhone app arrives
$1.99? I've spent more on worse on the iPhone. Sold.
bvttf··on It's No Joke: Real Time Search is a Big Deal.
What if something happens where there isn't an omniscient authority? Or if the authority is unresponsive?

But they're usually still numbers. It could also be a hint to pull from an address book or autofill.

off the top of my head, http://z80.info/ http://mta.info/ http://beesbuzz.biz/blog/

edit: I still think .info should have been .nfo and been restricted to ANSI art.

bvttf··on Palm announces Palm Pre at CES
Wow, thanks! I wondered what'd actually happened with that.
bvttf··on Palm announces Palm Pre at CES
So is this the new palm software based on the BeOS?
bvttf··on Microsoft Surface UnBoxing Photos
They should make them bigger. In Detroit. My floor isn't lighting up rings around my feet and telling me to buy shit when I walk on it. Why not?
bvttf··on jQuery 1.3 ßeta
Misread as "SSeta"
bvttf··on After 10 years, those with a Philosophy degree out-earn those with degrees in IT, Business etc.
Notice that Math shows a higher starting salary, and as much of a percent increase as philosophy.
bvttf··on Apple allows Google to cheat in the SDK
Yeah, I think my phone just wasn't liking my hand/head when I was trying to test it.
bvttf··on Apple allows Google to cheat in the SDK
From using the app, it looks like they just use the accelerometer and guesswork. Or they just really suck at detecting my head. The preference for screen rotation says "Turning on Screen Rotation disables motion sensing for voice search."
bvttf··on AmEx Said to Request $3.5 Billion in U.S. Aid
Amex issues the cards themselves, exposing them to way more risk than mc/visa. Look at the branding on your credit cards. Amex will be front-and-center on an Amex, but on most other cards it's the issuing bank. Unless it's micky mouse or your kids or some shit.

If you don't pay your Amex bill, i think Amex takes a hit to pay the merchant. If Amex were to implode, those merchants could get fucked.

bvttf··on Is pagination still necessary?
google's search cookie seems to be separate from the account cookie. Same forgetting happens with "safe" search preferences.
bvttf··on The Bellic School of Management Training
I find that I start skimming partway through so that by the end of it I'm just scrolling. Was the last third of this one really about how he's trying his hardest to ignore video game remakes? He even mentions final fantasy! Also, secret remake message to everyone: bionic commando rearmed and wipeout HD are both awesome.
bvttf··on Rumor: Google to buy Valve (videogame developer/publisher)
MTV's 'multiplayer' blog says no. Sorry no link but no copy paste on iPhone.
bvttf··on Rumor: Google to buy Valve (videogame developer/publisher)
Hah. If this happened it'd be more likely that CS:S would become free, as a vehicle for google's ingame advertising.
bvttf··on The Net Neutrality Debate All On One Page
My main problem is that there's not quite enough competition in the ISP area. So if Verizon and Comcast both own newspapers we don't get any Craigslist.
bvttf··on 1/3 spy on text messages
Doesn't this say 1/3 spy, and of those, 60% spy while the target is in the shower?
bvttf··on Microsoft breaks IE8 interoperability promise
If internal sites are written for a buggy platform instead of a standard, it makes it harder to change browsers inside the company. Marketshare! Lock-in! Innovation!

bvttf··on Will the iPhone Meet its Match from a Modern Day DOS?
This graph: http://www.roughlydrafted.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/200... weirds me out how it suddenly overlaps in the last segment.
