buzzerbetrayed··on Do things that don't scale, and then don't scale
I wish Google didn’t give up up everything they try. Google plus was cool.
buzzerbetrayed··on Citybound: City building game, microscopic models to vividly simulate organism
Because cars?
buzzerbetrayed··on Token growth indicates future AI spend per dev
I'm not entirely sure I understand exactly what you're suggesting. But I'd imagine it's because a company that doesn't have to pay people will out compete the company that does.

There could be some scenario where it is advantageous to have humans working with AI. But if that isn't how reality plays out then companies won't be able to afford to pay people.

buzzerbetrayed··on Gleam v1.12
When you put distracting things on your homepage, don't be surprised when they're distracting
buzzerbetrayed··on Claude Code weekly rate limits
Some say hand wavy where others say dishonest. You’re justifying their dishonesty because telling the truth would cost them customers.

Gross.

buzzerbetrayed··on Sign in with Google in Chrome
> Beneficial to both parties

Ah yes, because who doesn’t want more emails from a sites they’ve visited one time

buzzerbetrayed··on Why Elixir? Common misconceptions
Have you learned the language? Expecting to know what’s going on without having learned the syntax is a bit silly
buzzerbetrayed··on ChatGPT agent: bridging research and action
No, because playwright can be detected pretty easily and blocked. It needs to be (and will be) using the same browser that you regularly browse with.
buzzerbetrayed··on Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and XAI Granted Up to $200M from Defense Department
He’s not a government employee. You said it yourself lol
buzzerbetrayed··on OpenAI’s Windsurf deal is off, and Windsurf’s CEO is going to Google
> if it was better it would have survived.

Not sure how you can claim this when:

1. It is still very much alive, and

2. The whole point GP is making is that what made it better got stripped from it because of the acquisition announcement

buzzerbetrayed··on Show HN: FlopperZiro – A DIY open-source Flipper Zero clone
Totally depends on what “better” means to you and your use case.
buzzerbetrayed··on Bitchat – A decentralized messaging app that works over Bluetooth mesh networks
Not to mention that the necessity of "do a test transfer" already shows how massively broken the process is
buzzerbetrayed··on Anthropic cut up millions of used books, and downloaded 7M pirated ones – judge
You legitimately have it completely backwards. The word "piracy" was coopted to put a more severe spin on copyright violation. As a result, it became "the common usage of the word". But that was by design. And it's worth pushing back on.
buzzerbetrayed··on ICEBlock, an app for anonymously reporting ICE sightings, goes viral
So.. America can't protect American interests when deciding who should be in the country? If I went to Mexico and started protesting I would fully expect Mexico to send me home. And I'd support their right to do so.
buzzerbetrayed··on ICEBlock, an app for anonymously reporting ICE sightings, goes viral
This is a perfect example of the problem with media reporting bullshit and then later correcting it. Everyone hears the bullshit, very few people hear the actual reason.
buzzerbetrayed··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
It amazes you that the popular viewpoint in America is also found on HN?
buzzerbetrayed··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
If you honestly think Iran is enriching uranium for clean energy, I have a bridge to sell you.
buzzerbetrayed··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
Maybe it has something to do with Israel being an ally and Iran sponsoring terrorism all over the region
buzzerbetrayed··on Apple introduces a universal design across platforms
Nobody is claiming otherwise. They’re just pointing out that this isn’t what people are asking about when they ask if it has ads. You, like GGP, are being pedantic.
buzzerbetrayed··on Figma Slides Is a Beautiful Disaster
Not all software is used hours a day. Some software needs to be intuitive so the user doesn’t need to invest hours to learn it. And visuals play a huge part in that.
buzzerbetrayed··on OpenAI to buy AI startup from Jony Ive
Ive wasn't great. Apple has only improved since he left. There, does it help if I say it more directly?
buzzerbetrayed··on OpenAI to buy AI startup from Jony Ive
Just look it up. It was a thing for years, to the point that Apple was basically forced to revert it.
buzzerbetrayed··on Claude Code SDK
Can you clarify what you mean here? Are you saying I can use Claude Code for a flat rate of $100/month? What are the limits? What if I use more than $100 worth of Code in a month? Their website doesn't seem to make it clear.

Edit:

Found the answer to my own questions

Damn. That's a really good deal

buzzerbetrayed··on GOP sneaks decade-long AI regulation ban into spending bill
"anyone who arrives at the conclusion you have arrived at is a lunatic" is functionally the same as "you're a lunatic so your opinion is invalid". Nitpick all you want.
buzzerbetrayed··on GOP sneaks decade-long AI regulation ban into spending bill
No. It's saying that personal attacks that are meant to undermine the credibility of your opponent is ad hominem. Because it is.
buzzerbetrayed··on GOP sneaks decade-long AI regulation ban into spending bill
You’re saying the same thing twice. One just more blatantly than the other. The point of calling someone a lunatic is to undermine their opinion. It’s ad hominem either way even if one is more subtle.
buzzerbetrayed··on The world could run on older hardware if software optimization was a priority
Yep. I suspect GP has just gotten used to this and it is the new “snappy” to them.

I see this all the time with people who have old computers.

“My computer is really fast. I have no need to upgrade”

I press cmd+tab and watch it take 5 seconds to switch to the next window.

That’s a real life interaction I had with my parents in the past month. People just don’t know what they’re missing out on if they aren’t using it daily.

buzzerbetrayed··on Burrito Now, Pay Later
Aren’t mortgages the number one reason houses cost so much? If mortgages weren’t allowed, the price of houses would plummet.
