burgerone··on Show HN: Scheme-langserver – Digest incomplete code with static analysis
Awesome! DrRacket is easily the worst programming environment I've ever used. Glad to hage an alternative.
burgerone··on Show HN: A real-time strategy game that AI agents can play
Bro - come on.
burgerone··on AI Added 'Basically Zero' to US Economic Growth Last Year, Goldman Sachs Says
It's not that the technology is not there yer, it's all the ethical concerns and the mental barrier that nobody wants to spend their day begging AI for solutions.
burgerone··on Show HN: Pdfwithlove – PDF tools that run 100% locally (no uploads, no back end)
Stirling pdf has launched a desktop version
burgerone··on Notes on Apple's Nano Texture (2025)
I did read the article and can correct you because it's not a coating, it's etched. What I would like to know is why anyone should choose that over a normal matte display panel. I don't see the purpose
burgerone··on I was a top 0.01% Cursor user, then switched to Claude Code 2.0
Top 0.01% user of a code LLM demonstrates extreme unwillingness to learn anything.
burgerone··on Giving university exams in the age of chatbots
I wish we could take our exams this way. It seems like a very interesting approach :)
burgerone··on Notes on Apple's Nano Texture (2025)
Is this just a standard matte screen? That's really not something new or innovative...
burgerone··on Show HN: Pdfwithlove – PDF tools that run 100% locally (no uploads, no back end)
How does it compare to stirling pdf?
burgerone··on Don't fall into the anti-AI hype
There's this infinite war between the two opposing sides. "It's going to change programming forever" vs "Why not just use your brain". I much prefer option two for all the good reasons. Saying that AI is awesome doesn't actually adress all its issues.
burgerone··on Everything as code: How we manage our company in one monorepo
Had me interested up until the word "AI"
burgerone··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (December 2025)
Awesome Project! Would love to hear more!
burgerone··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (December 2025)
Far less interesting than what you lot do, but I'm building a fully custom 18-cell battery pack for my Thinkpad W530 :3
burgerone··on Claude Opus 4.5
Using AI in production is no doubt an enormous security risk...
burgerone··on Take a Look the First Musical Robot
This seems lile a genuinely pointless dwvice. It has zero practical applications.
burgerone··on Altoids by the Fistful
I really don't understand why you would deliberately condense a story crafted with intent into a lifeless AI summary.
burgerone··on Hosting a website on a disposable vape
Vapes are practically unregulated with how many sre being imported from overseas. Health impacts have barely been studied yet.
burgerone··on ReMarkable Paper Pro Move
What I don't understand is why I should pick a 480€ piece of paper over an actual piece of paper. For that price I could get a decent tablet or just type things into a note taking app.
burgerone··on WinBoat: Run Windows apps on Linux with seamless integration
One comment and the prerequisites hint at this tool spinning up a docker container which runs a windows VM and pulls the windows out using some remote desktop tool
burgerone··on How I code with AI on a budget/free
Why are people still drawn to using pointless AI assistants for everything? What time do we save by making the code quality worse overall?
burgerone··on Voting age to be lowered to 16 by next general election
Social media will have a greater effect on votes than ever before
burgerone··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2025)
Far less spectacular or impressive than other projects I've seen here bu I wrote a quite small blogging engine
burgerone··on Browsercraft: Java Minecraft in the browser
There's a similar but "illegal" other client called eaglercraft. It bumps this up a notch with a much more "recent" version of MC, by compiling java to javascript
burgerone··on Bolt3D: Generating 3D Scenes in Seconds
What's the use case for putting AI into everything? Pretty much every AI product so far has been and still is subject to hallucinations and inaccuracies and on top of that it's hugely computing intensive. Sure, it's the best we have right now and it allows us to do things that were previously next to impossible with manual programming work, but it's far from being something that's actually viable. And what would be the use case for turning a picture into an approximated 3d mesh that is only really complete from one angle? LIDAR does a stunningly accurate job at that already, reproducibly (although granted that this cannot retroactively be applied to existing photos).
burgerone··on Xcode Constantly Phones Home
Is that sarcasm? I wouldn't put it past them to do that.

If it isn't, could you provide a source?

burgerone··on Mascotbot: Real-Time, Engaging Avatar SDK for Al Agents
What exactly is the use case here? I have yet to see a website replace their text chat with an avatar
burgerone··on Egg prices are soaring. Are backyard chickens the answer?
> dominant egg producers . . . have leveraged the crisis to raise prices, amass record profits, and consolidate market power

Call me ignorsnt, but I'm surprised to see fewer cases of this kind of exploitative capitalism here in the EU. The only similar case that cones to mind is the gas and diesel price hike. Am I missing something or are Americans just more accepting of agressive capitalism like this? Something similar is Healthcare. Insulin for example is dirt cheap to produce but costs the buyer hundreds (iirc) of dollars.

burgerone··on Flea-Scope: $18 Source Available USB Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer and More [pdf]
I think the low cost of the flea-scope justifies sticking to just one analog input per device, even with a successor, provided that the interface gets a little bit of an upgrade to be able to handle multiple scopes at once.

This would retain the small form factor and would keep the design free from compromises.

burgerone··on Flea-Scope: $18 Source Available USB Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer and More [pdf]
I'm at the character limit, so I'll take suggestions for a new title!

There's a lot of unique, interesting and useful features this offers, all of which are deserving of a spot in the title...

Edit: Seems like I have lost the ability to change the post title. Unfortunate

burgerone··on Flea-Scope: $18 Source Available USB Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer and More [pdf]
Where's that guess coming from? The scope is $18, the optional probe from elecrow is $5 extra. You most definitely have either an android phone or a laptop/PC with a browser from the last ten years already. As such the cost is pretty minimal. Say you bought a set of these kind of test probes with hooks at the front. A set would maybe cost you $10. Now you can use all your 9 channels. I don't understand your price calculations.

Every scope out there has an upper limit in terms of speed. If you have no use for it, don't buy it. This oscilloscope is first and foremost a learning resource.
