If you make just above the poverty line you get no handouts from the state and normal rent prices. A friend of mine is friends with a dude that gets millions of dollars a year from the state to buy and manage buildings for poor people to live in.
For example, many small businesses that are not "big mean corporations" that run on already small margins either jack up their prices enough to afford paying more. The customer then gets screwed with much higher prices.
OR all these mom and pop places go under because they still can't find labor, then more people are out of work - where do they then get jobs?
Life in most cases is a series of tradeoffs.
That being said, if you bust your ass you can do both like my father did.
87000 people to run Facebook sounds a little ridiculous.
These tech companies sounds like colleges these days where the number of administrators has grown 10X and the amount of teachers has stayed the same.
Use your money to hire people that directly contribute to your product. Use profits to "do good" after.
1)In a way I don't blame them - I have trouble myself keep records lol. Though it's a giant company they should have systems in place
2)I never understood this "fine" stuff - so did they solve the problem or what?
