brbcoding··on Tower 2 Git client is coming
I use it mostly for the graphs... We work between a ton of branches and it's nice to see the visualization. Also, it's a lot faster when I have to push multiple branches to multiple repos (looking through 2 remotes with 7 branches each right now).
brbcoding··on Tower 2 Git client is coming
Same here, but SourceTree just seems to get so slow after a fair amount of use.
brbcoding··on Web Starter Kit
It seems like this is more of a workflow than just a framework. Zurb and bootstrap don't come with build tools as far as I know, whereas this includes a gulpfile and a bunch of other stuff that's very common in my workflow. This feels more yeoman-esque + generator to me.

Edit: Totally posted this before I read 'Web Starter Kit is inspired by Mobile HTML5 Boilerplate and Yeoman's generator-gulp-webapp, having taken input from contributors to both projects during development. Our FAQs attempt to answer commonly asked questions about the project.'

brbcoding··on HTTP 402 – Payment Required
Funny this should show up today. Just got this error yesterday on one of our properties from maxmind, and sure enough, it was a payment issue. First time I'd seen it in use.
brbcoding··on Famo.us open to everyone
With that bounce-back effect it doesn't seem like it was designed with usage in mind.
brbcoding··on Show HN: A Grunt workflow for designing and testing HTML emails
Might be able to use the Sassc - https://github.com/hcatlin/sassc lib too. There are several wrappers for it too, like this one for node https://github.com/andrew/node-sass
brbcoding··on Show HN: A Grunt workflow for designing and testing HTML emails
Isn't Ruby a dependency for Sass in general? Don't think that's a function of this grunt task.
brbcoding··on Droplet lens turns a smartphone into a 160X microscope
This reminds me of this Kickstarter project that I backed a while back: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/968523355/micro-phone-l...

This one just sticks to your phone rather than requiring an enclosure, but only has a max zoom of 60x (or 15x without phone zoom).

brbcoding··on Comparing Ember and Angular
We are having the same discussions, and a lot of the developers seem to lean towards angular, simply because of that momentum that you mentioned.

> "The project I'm working on at Netflix is extremely ambitious, ... solving pretty interesting problems in Ember, that are actually a lot more complicated than problems I solved in previous Angular projects"

This is a key point that I keep running into. It seems that more complicated applications can benefit from Ember's very opinionated nature and more backbone-like structure...

I could be totally off base, as I've not created a large-scale app in either of these frameworks (yet).

brbcoding··on GitHub Selfies
So many of those beg to be t-shirts.
brbcoding··on GitHub Selfies
This combined with https://github.com/noidontdig/gitdown might make for some good late nights. I'd like to see an image cap when I'm in ballmer mode.

> Both use "-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; -moz-osx-font-smoothing: grayscale;" - this is rarely used because it is so new.

That's not true... Very commonly used when using icon fonts/web fonts.

brbcoding··on Only 90s Web Developers Remember This
I haven't seen the v3 theme, but the v2 one works with moderate success, even on BS3 pages... I actually have this gist lying around (paste in console). https://gist.github.com/brbcoding/37c2ca77a3a368708d24

This is what it does to the BS3 docs page: http://i.imgur.com/VQNlsZy.png

brbcoding··on Quick tip for developers who use OS X
Whoa, it would seem that you can option click above the line and go back in history!
brbcoding··on Salesforce.com Announces Two $1 Million Winning Teams for Hackathon
I personally haven't ever seen a bike that goes backwards when you backpedal. @dangrossman, thanks for the info -- TIL.
brbcoding··on Terminal Wedding – Ruby gem for Prerita and Jai's marriage
we all tried that (+ sudo). :P.
brbcoding··on Terminal Wedding – Ruby gem for Prerita and Jai's marriage
I thought you had made a fantastic pun there for a second... Then realized what you really said.

"It's a real gem."

brbcoding··on Hipster CEO
As an actual developer, I don't understand what about screenshot is insulting. Enlighten me.
brbcoding··on Let's have coffee.
I still want to see this implemented with some local breweries. I'd definitely use tweet-a-beer.
brbcoding··on Hacker News was down
http://isup.me is much easier to remember :P

... it did say that HN was up when it wasn't for me though.

brbcoding··on SAP to halt development of Business ByDesign
This should have been done a while ago... Preferably before I took a course on it in school. Oh well, more useless knowledge from the broken-ass university system.
brbcoding··on Go Pro on a soaring eagle [video]
That's what I was wondering... I'd assume it's a trained eagle. Wouldn't want the eagle to be stuck with a camera on it's back.
brbcoding··on GitHub Zen API
Never realized there was an emojis api too... https://api.github.com/emojis
brbcoding··on We're losing perspective on 3D CSS
Is anyone actually using 3D shapes in CSS in practice for anything more than novelty? If they are, I haven't seen it. It's been more of a "look what I can do with just CSS", because it's fun to hack around with new technology.
brbcoding··on [dead]
Having fun with it so far... Simple demo - http://cdpn.io/Gyzlh
brbcoding··on Elon Musk to outline 'Hyperloop' idea
Just tweeted that they pulled an allnighter and will be publishing a link @ 1:30PDT https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/366964441159438337
brbcoding··on Youtube Easter Egg - One for the Geeks
Quite accurate. I was hoping for some sweet dev talks or something special for 'Geek Week' but all I got was a bunch of gaming videos.

Click the whitespace near the comments, then type 1337... Don't do it in the search box.
brbcoding··on Show HN: Sketch, connect and simulate gears and chains
I have no real use for this, but that didn't stop me from playing with it for 30 minutes!
brbcoding··on Sublime Text packages
Middle click doesn't seem to work on Chrome 28.0.1500.72 on Win8 x64... It does, however, work on 30.0.1582.0 canary.
