Also, hello fellow Clevelander :)
The "underwhelming" iPhone 5 is actually running a functioning OS. You can create all the feature matrixes you want, doesn't change the fact that one was in peoples' hands today, and the other has to simulate it's features because it's software doesn't work yet
PNGpong widget to compress PNGs Illustrator for vector stuff
It can be done, best of luck to you
EDIT: link (http://wmcfest.com/)
Not sure where it's at now but sounds similar to what you're doing.
Off topic, but what platform is Scribophile built on, or is it all custom?
I was recently creative director of a small software company that let their design team go. When I started the owner changed my employee contract from 14 to 28 days with the assumption that since I was in a management position with 5 reports, were I to leave the transition would have been hard to squeeze in to the standard 2 week period.
When he announced he was letting everyone go with 2 weeks severance, he was not too happy when I reminded him my contracted stipulated 28 days (he did honor it though).
Shoot me an email. I don't have anything currently, but I know quite a few people over here in Cleveland and stuff seems to be popping up all over right now
I ended up at my current job by being found on Sortfolio, might be worth a look there as well.
Good luck!

Quick, easy read geared towards non-designers (it's in the title!) that explains the basics of C.R.A.P. (Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity), 4 things that will change the way you look at things and stop centering everything :D

Also willing to relocate, if you can believe someone would want to leave this place behind :D
LeanDog has a pretty kick ass office on an old boat anchored in Lake Erie, which used to be a restaurant. They host all sorts of meetups & such (including Cleveland Startup Weekend), they're incredibly active & helpful in the community here.
And no, I don't work there (unfortunately)
But speaking of secret handshakes, don't suppose anyone here remembers CFUS by any chance?
I really regret not keeping in touch with those guys, aside from being able to show my mom what I work on now :D
I've found that if the person interviewing you knows what they're talking about, you'll spend most of the interview discussing you're overall philosophy, future goals, and how you'll fit in with the company because they've already reviewed you code and determined you have the skills they need (that's why they brought you in).
If they're not sure on what exactly it is you do, prepared to discuss hows & whys of things you've done, and brush up on your buzzwords and industry lingo.
Overall, prepare to discuss your process (how you approach, plan and execute a project).
How do you handle a very aggressive deadline? Do you push for a more realistic timeframe or cut corners to get it out the door and go back and fix it (no right answer here, btw :)).
Are you comfortable working with someone else's code/framework? When should you write your own javascript, and when should you use a framework? Why JQuery instead of Prototype (or vice versa)?
Be able to defend your decisions (without getting defensive, that's a big red flag) and articulate your position. Don't wear a suit (unless it's a law firm or somewhere where everyone wears suits). Bring a few copies of your resume. Above all, relax. If you got in the door, chances are it's your job to lose :)
I really enjoyed Ringworld by Larry Niven as well. And of course, the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy in 5 parts :)
Normally, I'd completely tear apart the default theme, rebuild it with my own design and by the time I had that about wrapped up I'd start on something else and never launch.
Like I said not much, but it's out there and not sitting on my dev server like all my other half finished projects. It's a start I guess :)
Unless you're set on getting $55 out of them :)
You should be able to get a pretty good idea on my capabilities by looking at my code/projects and how I handled the challenges of building them, not how well I can answer whether to use CSS hacks or conditional stylesheets (because there's not one correct answer anyways).
