These same regulators would love to steer policy and public opinion by calling something that reduces their influence bad for the climate, even if such a thing is run on clean energy, solar, etc. That seems suspicious.
Beware of what -isms you are repeating and supporting - they are very likely aligned with other -isms you would not support, or are a root cause of the issue you care about in the first place. Environmentalism is no exception.
Overall, blockchain currency has the ability to help humanity. If that requires more power, well, so does everything. I'd focus on how to generate that power renewably, not to argue against a technology that millions in the unbanked world could use to better their situation. I'd suggest you learn more about the problems that present cryptocurrency as a potential solution before just listing new problems.
I'd rather see who has the highest liquidity. Who is holding on to cash they could, right this minute, spend, or stocks they could freely sell without tanking their own companies? Not Musk, not Zuck, not Jeff... at least, not likely.

Not just stream from Microsoft, Google, or anyone else. Duh. They sell hardware and related services. Why would they allow a product that is antithetical to their core businesses?
An iPhone is not just a dumb terminal for any company to sell anything for any price. If you don't agree and want a free for all, other companies make other products. Don't buy an iPhone.
As for this immature notion that Apple is "greedy" - it is a BUSINESS. Tim Cook and every other exec have a legal responsibility to increase revenues, profits and ultimately shareholder value.
They don't get to sit in a drum circle and smoke out until someone suggests "hey, let's just let Microsoft take over the AppStore Games category and hope whatever they stream to our users will leverage our newest innovations and drive new device purchases every once in a while."
It doesn't work that way. It never will.
Far too technical and obscure a solution for 99% of the world.
I think Apple, while not a complete solution, shows a path forward with Sign In with Apple allowing you to generate a relay email.
As always, whoever nails the user experience will win.
