That's on my roadmap! Do you have ideas on how a testsuite for that might work? I am open to suggestions.
It's ironic, isn't it? To feel happy you have to do something for another. We only feel happy giving to another, any selfish want in and of itself will never lead to happiness.
In addition, this builds trust that will be pivotal at getting your product in front of more people.
Yes, it is quite possible to do that. One of my down the road goals is to add light obfuscation to the source code upon packaging. If anyone is motivated, they can break into _any_ source code and repackage.
I'd also like to add some form of checksumming, but again if they have access to the source code they can change anything they want to.
I just did, the repo is now MIT. Enjoy!
Is now MIT licensed. I realized after you said GPL that this isn't what I wanted for the repo!
Yes, I need help as I wasn't able to test the security recommendation. I found some snippets but they didn't work when I tested locally.
Thank you, I will read up on this!
Thank you for your feedback. This template has not yet been reviewed but I hope to get candid feedback like yours on spots that may have been missed.
I am planning to change the way the IPC renderer is exposed; Marshall from the Electron team pointed me to a better way of doing so and I hadn't had time to update the repo yet. That will be something I update soon in the code and in the docs.
The best practices I take from Electron themselves; https://electronjs.org/docs/tutorial/security. If there are other security reports please send them to me and the template can be enhanced further.
Small firms won't be able to take on the cost, which will hurt new businesses.
That came out a big too "prophetic", but I think it's fairly true if you think about it.
I've made some progress on the issue if you'd like to take a peak at it now.
I always applaud a good project that aims to inspire, but it seems to me you are asking for permission here. It shouldn't be up to us to tell you to quit your job. In fact- asking us to tell you tells me you want to, you just don't yet on what grounds.
Take some time to think it over and try to understand if it's a rational or emotional reason why you feel this way. If you can see this reason for yourself and it persists for at least two weeks, you'll know for sure why you want to leave which will help you decide what things of your new job are something you are looking for (ie. better pay/commute/coworkers/work-life balance/etc.)
Best of luck!
Fundamentally, I believe we _can't_ solve this problem through technology. I think it can be used to initiate the friendship, but never sustain it. I feel the problem is you can't be vulnerable on a screen, it just never replicates the face-to-face interaction with someone else.
I've been there for many years looking for that online substitute, it just doesn't ever fully work. However - I wish you luck on your network.
