blobs··on Farm animals in India and China are becoming more resistant to antibiotics
> We as a species have very much decided that short term gains are well worth

We as a species (as a whole) cannot decide about anything, that's an illusion. Governments decide to allow or disallow for, not us commoners. And it hardly matters on what democratic party you vote, money/economy is their highest priority, everything else is subordinate. So yes, governments allow for this just as they allow for pesticides killing entire insect species, it simply brings in tax money and they cannot afford to disallow.

blobs··on The Awkward but Essential Art of Office Chitchat
Hmm, this sounds a bit naive. I'm struggling with this for my entire life, and only a certain amount of alcohol helps me to do chit chat. But after the chit chat I always regret some things I've said, the whole thing is just rubbish. I simply don't like it to be forced to talk shit. I'm quite certain it's not a learned skill, it is pretty default for the most stupid people around us.
blobs··on Bedrock – A modular, WAN-replicated, blockchain-based database
> The "blockchain-based" part is misleading.

I don't agree. Maybe for one who doesn't understand what a blockchain is and only has an association with crypto currencies. They are just using a private blockchain as a ledger for all commits to the database. It seems a bit far fetched to me to assume they chose this core technology to "capitalize on the cryptocurrency hype".

blobs··on Money as a System of Control (2017)
> Money is not a system of control. Debt is a system of control.

As if money and debt are unrelated. Debt is a function of money, and most of us are born in debt because the country we are born in keeps lending money(trillions). We have to acquire money to get and stay out of debt.
