blks··on Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school
I think many men should be much and much more careful about lugging heavy weight as well. This never ends well for their health either.
blks··on Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school
When was the last time you spoke with a woman other than your mother?
blks··on Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school
I have kids too. What exactly is different in them almost from birth, eg at 3-6 months? Could you describe in details?
blks··on Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school
Hormones don’t raise kids in particular gender norms, don’t carve them a place in society, don’t feed them gender-based culture 24/7. They do have a physical impact, impact on sexual development, their sex, reproductive function, temperament, but gender is a human invention.

I guess hitting girls with sticks makes them uneasy, huh. Maybe they should apply the same empathy to all children.
blks··on Pinocchio is weirder than you remembered
Russian/Soviet version of Pinocchio called “Buratino” is much nicer. Pinocchio is very individualistic and moralising, everything is a moral lesson or a bible reference. Buratino is very light and kind, main hero learns valuable lessons and defeats main bad guy with his friends, frees them from slavery and they end up getting their own theatre.

It seems to be only available for mobile?
blks··on Chrome removes claim of On-device Al not sending data to Google Servers
Do you have any source on that?
blks··on Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school
If they like it so much, they should apply it to all kids, not just boys.

You’ll be happy to meet him to do what? Hit him with a ruler multiple times?

This comment implies that you’d okay with your child being beaten if there are strong evidence against him?
blks··on Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school
When you impose gender ideology, gender roles on them from age 0, yeah you will get vastly different outcomes for boys and girls.

Violence creates more violence. Singapore has a lot of these sick backwater policies in place.

So what that you can loose sales even without crimes being committed? This somehow makes it okay to profit off someone’s work and ignore licenses?

Thank you, autocorrect sometimes misfires.

I was using Firefox, Vivaldi, Zen, and finally got fed up with various issues that Zen was having, so I switched to Waterfox. I am very happy and the browser is very fast; difference is immense.

Brave’s owner is a very sketchy dude. With all the news that were happening around brave, all the shitcoin stuff, I wouldn’t be surprised if the browser is mining crypto.

The single affiliated link scandal is enough to not touch that project with a ten foot pole.

blks··on Zuckerberg 'Personally Authorized and Encouraged' Meta's Copyright Infringement
The main point here is _using_ copyrighted materials to create a commercial product, that you then sell, that may be used as alternative or substitute for the original materials. You’re missing that point and talking about two independent projects competing.
blks··on I'm scared about biological computing
Fantasy land type mindset.
blks··on Zuckerberg 'Personally Authorized and Encouraged' Meta's Copyright Infringement
Why are you talking about this case that case nothing to do with the topic at hand? The comment you’re replying to gives a very clear and narrow analogy, and you’re talking about something else.
blks··on Zuckerberg 'Personally Authorized and Encouraged' Meta's Copyright Infringement
When you use millions of copyrighted materials to bundle together to produce a commercial product, I wouldn’t call that a fair use. Especially when licensing of such material doesn’t explicitly allow that, the material wasn’t even purchased on consumer markets and your commercial product may be a competitor/analogue to the copyrighted material.

Not even going to all GPL stuff, that in a better world should have screwed all the slop companies

blks··on Agentic Coding Is a Trap
In my workplace number of “agentic coders” users is 1. And among principle and seniors - 0.

Do you describe what to write to llm, line by line, in excruciating details? Sounds like a painful way to develop.
blks··on AI didn't delete your database, you did
They are responsible because they made a decision to use “ai” tools and gave them all this access in the first place.

I would prefer a browser without any ai slop.

Coding by hand is not mere typing symbols into editor that LLMs are now replacing, it’s thinking, abstracting, deciding how to apply your knowledge and experience, searching for information.

And of course in the current workplace where there’s often a push from managers to use LLMs as much as possible and to put as much work as possible on yourself, in this churn junior will not get to learn anything besides prompting and simple tooling.

I didn’t speak English my early teenage years, and that haven’t stopped me from reading books about programming in my native language. I remember spending hours in bookshops, excited to pick up next book to devour and try out.

Everything looks a nail for our hammer-shaped chat bot.

I think you’re overly hyped if your actually believe this is going to be a reality in 5-10 years.
