blisseyGo··on Show HN: I built a 3D virtual art gallery
I tried it twice but each time it froze my Safari and got stuck at 90% after few seconds.
blisseyGo··on Show HN: I built FabHomePages so your home can have its own homepage in minutes
Not sure about this particular post but for HN, every action is a HTTP GET request to HN (except when you click on the post's website link itself). So the GET request is pretty much the same as the click on HN. This is just my guess though.
blisseyGo··on Show HN: Word.to – Word Editor, Word Counter, Word Converter API
You should also include "word per minute for reading". Apparently "The average adult reading speed is between 200 and 300 words per minute (same reading rate you want to achieve by the 6th grade). For success in college you should be able to read 350 to 450 words per minute if you want to have any extra time."
blisseyGo··on Show HN: Muse – Tool for Thought on iPad
I was looking forward to trying it but the first thing it did was ask for my email. I would have liked if it let me at least try it without having to enter my email. Anyway, reluctantly, I entered my email but then I never received the access code.

I think you have a pretty big hurdle in the sign up and might be losing customers because of this. I would suggest allowing users to at least try it without signing up and also provide "Signup with Apple" instead of email.

they really should also use this ability to be able to ssh and develop etc in their marketing material. It might get even more users.
blisseyGo··on Show HN: Practical Python – Python projects for beginners
Just a UI feedback - I think you can make this more readable by not using a pure black background and pure white text. Right now it's harsh on eyes imo and therefore hard to read. Try using the gray and white combo which YouTube dark mode uses.

blisseyGo··on QAnon Was a Theory on a Message Board. Now It’s Headed to Congress
The same people who publicly supported the:

Russiagate conspiracy

Ukraine hoax

Jussie Smollett hoax

Bubba Wallace hoax

Covington Catholic Highschool hoax

Kavanaugh hoax

Doesn't report majority of the facts of Epstein case fairly

Riots are called "peaceful protests"

Antifa is called a "myth"

Looking at the Wikileaks emails is called "illegal" by media

Now they wonder why Qanon is catching up?

EDIT: I am saying this as someone who thinks Qanon is bs. But the same people who spread misinformation for years now questioning the spread of a conspiracy theory is quite hypocritical. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

These are awesome! Will use this on my next project! Do these work on all browsers? And how's the performance?
blisseyGo··on QAnon is running amok and the time has come for interventions
There's a lot in there. Search for terms like "hot dog", "domino", "walnut sauce", "pasta" etc.
blisseyGo··on QAnon is running amok and the time has come for interventions
> Trump loves authoritarians, he has deep authoritarian instincts

The left keeps saying that but I have never understood why. Why would an "authoritarian" be defending people's right to bear arms (2A), their freedom of speech (1A), States rights (federalism 10A) etc. I would even go as far as to say that the left is the one which is authoritarian and simply enjoys name calling assigning labels to the right as described as a tactic by Saul Alinsky which also happens to be loved by Hillary and Obama.

blisseyGo··on Feds say Yale discriminates against Asian, white applicants
That’s some wild accusation without any proof what so ever. This case has been going on forever and had been obvious from the very beginning.
blisseyGo··on Feds say Yale discriminates against Asian, white applicants
You are making things up. Flynn was setup, his 302s were altered, FBI didn’t believe he lied, Brady evidence was not provided to his counsel (and still hasn’t been), he was bankrupted with over 6 million in legal fees, he had to sell both his houses, his old lawyers had severe conflict of interest which were not disclosed and he was threatened that they would go after his son if he didn’t plead guilty to something he never said. He was the incoming national security advisor - media makes it seem like the national security advisor talking to foreign countries after election is somehow an illegal thing? Now his judge has gone on a full circus.

Please research from non biased non spin news and look at actual documents unsealed.

blisseyGo··on Apple just kicked Fortnite off the App Store
I think the main thing which really needs to be done is allow a non-apple App Store which hosts the apps on non-apple servers. Only reason I can see Apple's 30% cut (15% would be better) justified is that they host the download files for apps and also review them. So I can see why they need a cut - 30% is too much imo.

Of course that comes with its on risks as Apple won't be able to control what apps get installed but if Google can do it, then so can Apple. This way Apple can keep their App Store guidelines consistent across all developers and developers who don't want to go through the sometimes tiresome review process plus give apple the 30% share, can use this alternate App Store.

blisseyGo··on Apple just kicked Fortnite off the App Store
The 30% cut only applies to in-app content. Doesn't apply to physical goods or services delivered via the app. So things like UBER, AirBnb, SkipTheDishes etc are not part of it.

blisseyGo··on Joe Biden picks Kamala Harris as his running mate
Yes, I am aware. That's why I said that it doesn't matter to me as I don't blame someone for their ancestors. But if the left base had principles, they wouldn't like her for exactly that reason.

In my poor country, McDonalds is considered the rich people food.

Decent healthy food is not expensive. I have lived through it myself and plenty of us have.

Here is Bernie in 2015 saying against open borders saying it was a rightwing proposal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf-k6qOfXz0

https://youtu.be/McKI1gfoeaY

Now he's fully onboard with open border policies. He doesn't even have the same message he did 5 years ago. Just like his twitter history shows him tweeting about evil millionaires and billionaires until he became a millionaire himself and now only targets billionaires.

blisseyGo··on Joe Biden picks Kamala Harris as his running mate
People downvoting you but it's the truth. Watch how media is lying about her being African American. She's Indian and Jamaican and family owned slaves - doesn't matter to me but it does matter a lot to the current left.

blisseyGo··on Elite do-gooders 'fixing' the world are part of the problem: Giridharadas
If we are blaming them for further entrenching power, then we are also to blame ourselves who voted for the politicians to allow this to happen and to fall for propaganda from those same "rich" people.

When the richest man in the US who happens to own the largest online shopping site and also uses his own newspaper to push more propaganda to push for more lockdowns - thus eliminating more competition from small businesses, is the richest man to be blamed or are the politicians listening to him and the people reading his propaganda newspaper and following orders to be blamed too?

When all the massive multi-national corporations that have questionable hiring, firing, healthcare, worker's rights, and safety track records promote and sponsor your cause and your Revolution has corporate sponsorship, you are not a revolutionary, you are a pawn.

It's just amazing how those who kept advocating for opening up small businesses and ending the lockdowns got called all sorts of names by the same people who complain about the rich getting richer.

Note that the twitter I linked to is not Sowell's actual twitter. He doesn't use Twitter. It's an account which tweets useful passages from his books.
blisseyGo··on Elite do-gooders 'fixing' the world are part of the problem: Giridharadas
I come from a poor south asian country. The idea that western countries like US, Canada etc don't have "food and shelter" is absurd. I can understand examples like Flint's water issue but that's the fault of the very politicians people keep voting in again and again. It's not the fault of all the rich people.

Everyone who's willing to put a tiny bit of effort can get food and shelter thanks to food banks, shelters etc. Back in my country, we don't have that luxury yet but a lot of religious places are trying their best at providing that.

I am not religious myself but I do think they should play an important role at feeding those who don't have the resources yet.

Once your basic necessity like food and water have been solved, it's up to you to work your way up.

blisseyGo··on Elite do-gooders 'fixing' the world are part of the problem: Giridharadas
Sowell has written plenty of books on these topics which are worthy reading. The quote is from one of his books. The twitter account I linked is not actually Sowell's. He doesn't have twitter. The account simply posts quotes from his books.

So no, it's not just a bumpersticker retort. Growing up in a poor south asian country, I was taught to only care about the food on my plate and not be jealous of the food on someone else's plate. That made me work hard at putting more food on my own plate without being jealous and stealing from another's plate.

The same Politicians have been in power for 6 decades and haven't achieved anything they have promised every election. So how exactly did their "political decisions" help?
blisseyGo··on Elite do-gooders 'fixing' the world are part of the problem: Giridharadas
1. How's that the fault of the wealthy? Blame the politicians who are mandating crazy inconsistent policies of keeping big businesses open while closing the small businesses down.

2. A stock price going up is not exactly getting "richer".

blisseyGo··on One in 10 ballots rejected in last month’s vote-by-mail elections in New Jersey
> Not everyone can get a photo ID, especially when the state doesn't want them to

That's such an asinine and patronizing comment. People need to stop treating us minorities as some stupid and incapable people. Every single adult is capable of getting a photo ID - if they can be bothered to vote, they can be bothered to spend a few minutes getting a photo ID.

The real reason people oppose voter ID is because democrats won't be able to cheat. Voting is enshrined in the constitution as a fundamental right but cheating is not enshrined.

Also interesting how all 3 sources you linked are from radical left to left leaning sources.

blisseyGo··on One in 10 ballots rejected in last month’s vote-by-mail elections in New Jersey
Pretty much every sane country requires Voter ID. India has strict voter ID and just counted over 600 million (67%) votes in 2019. Anyone claiming voter id is somehow suppressing and racist etc is lying because they want to cheat. You can downvote me all you want but can't run away from the truth.
