When it comes to storage "unlimited" to me means a promise to be broken at some random point in the future. I'll never use a service that claims unlimited anything over having an actual cost model. Companies that charge by what you use have actually given consideration to the cost of doing business and have priced that in already.
Despite the misleading headline, I really don't understand why anyone uses linkedin, there will inevitably be a trailing rely of comments claiming it has some irreplaceable value in professional networking, but I don't buy it. Nobody I've ever talked to has been able to articulate any actual value provided by "connecting" to another person on a social networking site. If you want to build professional connections go to lunch, join community calls, attend professional events, and go to conferences.
Sure it's a giant PITA, but it's not expensive to repair if you do the labor yourself. Parts for macbook are easy to comeby since Apple decentralizes repairs so heavily.
Great, what's more concerning than crash rates though are impeding emergency vehicles, blocking roads, stalling when traffic lights are down, rolling past school buses with stop arms out, navigating in construction zones and lots of other issues that are left out of this report.
This is all stupid advice from the same consulting firm. I have no doubt C suites will try this and I have no doubt it will backfire and end their businesses if they don't reverse course. Really tired of hearing this crap from people who have never used or run AI and don't understand their usefulness and limitations.
I'm not sure why you feel devalued or let down, LLM code is a joke and will be a thing of the past after everyone has had their production environment trashed for the nth time by "AI."
No company will expect (or even want) any employee to be using AI 5 years out with the exception of small specialized models that certainly won't be replacing any jobs. Idk what it is about people since covid... Tech bubbles aren't new, AI isn't new, moderate jumps in technolgy advancements isn't new. This whole scene of terrifying young practitioners as they're entering into their fields and telling students they are wasting their time and that all the jobs of the future will be gone isn't just silly, it's actively more destructive than the AI tech itself.
The amount of closeted racism and blind defense in this comment section while knowing this is the peak represention of our industry makes me ashamed to be an engineer.
Last time I rode Caltrain (late last year) I had my life threatened by some low life who got mad b/c they had been in the bathroom for 5+ stops and an employee had the audacity to knock on the door and tell them to wrap it up and get out (I just happened to be nearby) so there's that aspect of it.
The only way to achieve that level of parallelism is by not knowing what you are doing or the peoblem space you are working in to begin with and just throwing multiple ill defined queries at agents until something "works". It's sort of a modern infinite monkey theorem if you will.
I'll be moving off a google phone running GrapheneOS to Apple on my next phone refresh because of this, how is this not Google shooting themselves in the foot?
