A human artist puts in work and passion to create beautiful art from almost nothing. It brings them joy that their art brings someone joy. Every art piece has a story behind it, sharing their art with others gives them motivations to not only continue doing it and bless the world with more art but it also gives them feedback that yes this art is liked by someone out there. This feedback loop is part of what creates healthy civilizations.

AI slop is rapidly destroying the WWW, most of the content is becoming more and more low-quality and difficult to tell if its true or hallucinated. Pre-AI web content is now more like the golden-standard in terms of correctness, browsing the Internet Archive is much better.

This will only cause content to go behind pay-walls, allot of open-source projects will be closed source not only because of the increased work maintainers have to do to not only review but also audit patches for potential AI hallucinations but also because their work is being used to train LLMs and re-licensed to proprietary.

It used to be that all you required to program was a computer and to RTFM but now we need to pay for API "tokens" and pray that there are no rug pull in the future.

IMO 80% is way too much, LLMs are probably good for things that are not your domain knowledge and you can efford to not be 100% correct, like rendering the Mandelbrot set, simple functions like that.

LLMs are not deterministic sometimes they produce correct code and other times they produce wrong code. This means one has to audit LLM generated code and auditing code takes more effort than writing it, especially if you are not the original author of the code being audited.

Code has to be 100% deterministic. As programmers we write code, detailed instructions for the computer (CPU), we have developed allot of tools such as Unit Tests to make sure the computer does exactly what we wrote.

A codebase has allot of context that you gain by writing the code, some things just look wrong and you know exactly why because you wrote the code, there is also allot of context that you should keep in your head as you write the code, context that you miss from simply prompting an LLM.

That is not how capitalism works.

It is easy to look at Globalization in retrospect and conclude that it was a failure but you will miss all the advances it brought with it. Globalization has its place and time, it was the logical next step after the USA industrialization peaked the next step to squeeze out even more from the economy.

Try selling pirated copies and see what the warnings are really about.

Machiavellianism is not for everyone. It is specifically a framework for people in power. Kings, Heads of States, CEOs, Commanders. Competitive environments with allot at stake (peoples lives, money, future), in these environments it is often difficult to make decisions. Having a framework in place that allows you to make decisions is very useful.

How well does it integrate with Androids APIs or even IOS, can I make a full blown app with it. I believe the main reason why people use FFI to interface Rust and Dart/Flutter for mobile development is because Rust does not have an Android/IOS framework with the higher level APIs it just has native APIs (fs, io..)

The nice thing about Flutter is that its cross-platform, write once run anywhere, I use Rust for the back-end. Personally I try not to use FFI because it adds complexity and ugly code, tracking object pointers, I'd rather just write pure Dart code.
