bingemaker··on Claude Code Cheat Sheet
Nice work. Under "MCP" section, "Local" shouldn't be prepended with "~". It should just be `.claude.json (per project)`
bingemaker··on Death to Scroll Fade
I worked for a client who was all about scrolljacking. Then he discovered parallax effect, and there was no looking back. He fired me, and got another team who didn't have any opinions.

Now the page stutters on every device other than iPhone 16+ with 5G.

bingemaker··on Malus – Clean Room as a Service
It will be nice to know how many legal personnel fell for this trip. Maybe a leaderboard :D
bingemaker··on You need to rewrite your CLI for AI agents
If AI agents need CLIs, then whats stopping them from using APIs directly. I see CLIs as good wrappers over APIs, and nothing more. What more will CLIs provide which `curl -X POST` can't/won't provide?
bingemaker··on Goodbye InnerHTML, Hello SetHTML: Stronger XSS Protection in Firefox 148
Nice one. Will there be any impact on __dangerouslySetInnerHTML (React)?
bingemaker··on D Programming Language
Off topic: Back in the day, C++ programming books Andrei Alexandrescu are a joy to read, especially, Modern C++ design.

Also, this presentation https://accu.org/conf-docs/PDFs_2007/Alexandrescu-Choose_You... killed a lot of bike shedding!

bingemaker··on Show HN: Sandbox Agent SDK – unified API for automating coding agents
Congratulations on open sourcing this. Is there a small video explaining how it feels?
bingemaker··on Mozilla's open source AI strategy
> Small models have gotten remarkably good. 1 to 8 billion parameters, tuned for specific tasks

What models is Mozilla talking about?

bingemaker··on Show HN: Superset – Terminal to run 10 parallel coding agents
I have a question: How do you manage web servers running parallely for 10 coding agents?
bingemaker··on Patterns.dev
Looks more or less like GoF? Maybe compressing files and optimizing 3rd party js files are not patterns.
bingemaker··on The fuck off contact page
This reminds me of https://theoatmeal.com/comics/design_hell. Endless iterations with cat pictures thrown into the mix.
bingemaker··on CSS now has an if() conditional function
I'm not sure turning CSS into a full blown language is a good idea. With all the cascading in place, it is already a bit hard to determine why certain styles are applied. Now with this, we will be spending more brain cells debugging CSS issues.
bingemaker··on Tom Stoppard has died
Care to elaborate this statement: "TIL about banished Rama and Sita from the Bhagavad Gita"?
bingemaker··on The profitable startup
Having lots of money to throw at moonshot problems is always important. The current breakthrough of the 2020s is LLMs. I wonder if such breakthroughs can be achieved with this kind of approach.
bingemaker··on Launch HN: Recall.ai (YC W20) – API for meeting recordings and transcripts
Thanks for the clarification.
bingemaker··on Launch HN: Recall.ai (YC W20) – API for meeting recordings and transcripts
Wish she was around!
bingemaker··on Launch HN: Recall.ai (YC W20) – API for meeting recordings and transcripts
Pardon my ignorance, but is recording a call without informing the other participants considered bad practice?

Congrats on the launch! :tada:

bingemaker··on CocoaPods trunk read-only plan
Thoroughly enjoyed while it lasted! Thank you maintainers.
bingemaker··on JavaScript's New Superpower: Explicit Resource Management
Thanks for the explanation
bingemaker··on JavaScript's New Superpower: Explicit Resource Management
Unsure if this is inspired from C++ RAII. RAII looks very elegant.

`[Symbol.dispose]()` threw me off

bingemaker··on AI Is Like a Crappy Consultant
Will try this approach. Thanks Ramesh
bingemaker··on AI Is Like a Crappy Consultant
At the moment, I use Windsurf to explain me how a feature is written and how to do 3rd party integrations. I ask for the approach and I write the code myself. Letting AI write the code has become very unproductive over the period of time.

I'm still learning though

bingemaker··on Mozilla Firefox – Official GitHub repo
They already have an org github.com/mozilla. Why didn't they move ff source there?
bingemaker··on OpenAI reaches agreement to buy Windsurf for $3B
Is there a writeup or a recording. Would be nice to follow through
bingemaker··on Ask for no, don't ask for yes (2022)
This is the famous pattern that we see in building interfaces. "Tell, don't ask".
bingemaker··on Ruby-refrigerator: Freeze all core Ruby classes
Reminds me of this dark joke https://github.com/garybernhardt/base. This gem creates a "Base" class which literally contains everything!
bingemaker··on Ask HN: Recommendation for a SWE looking to get up to speed with latest on AI
Being a coder, I find these resources extremely useful:

Github blog: https://github.blog/ai-and-ml/ Cursor blog: https://www.cursor.com/blog

bingemaker··on Y Combinator often backs startups that duplicate other YC companies, data shows
YC also says that they don't believe in the idea, but the founders ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
bingemaker··on Copying is the way design works (2020)
In my experience, designers mistake web design with print design. Too often, the focus is on the UI rather than on the UX.
bingemaker··on Ruby: A great language for shell scripts
My first application of Ruby was to use it for shell auto-completions. I'm so grateful that I learnt Ruby first, and then Rails. Ruby is a great language to get some utility working out real fast. Rails is great for MVP. I fail to understand why people bitch about Ruby/Rails by comparing them to other languages/frameworks.
