bill_rr··on Digital PM. What else should I learn?
“Digital PM” is pretty vague. PM, in general, can mean a lot of things, but I’m assuming you mean Product Manager, which is defined in very different ways at different organizations. Or not defined at all. Sometimes described as “mini CEOs,” PMs have myriad responsibilities. In some ways, PMs are defined by their need to know (or be able to learn) anything & everything.

From a hiring perspective, your question itself is a bit of a red flag. Because PMs need to project confidence across the board. Asking questions is fine, but PMs know how to make their questions crystal clear. So provide context and nuance when necessary. In this case, it’s definitely necessary. How can anybody tell you what “else” you should learn if we don’t know what you’ve already learned?

bill_rr··on Show HN: TrebleMaker – AI-assisted song writing
Yup. I don't know what MIDI software is, and wish I was able to qualify myself out sooner. No need for me to be poking around wondering what this thing is.

Speak to current (or, if you don't have them yet, prospective) users. In real life. That way you can construct a landing page that speaks to them.

Oof. My first day back on HN in a while. Forgot how tough the crowd is around here!

> I've always thought of streaming as a doubly wasteful model where you lose battery life along with data.

Exactly! I was a streamer too, but then I switched to flip phone. So now I think I'm even hipstery than you.

Basically, no music for me except good old fashioned radio. And London Grammar on YouTube.

Are you French? In English, we say "comfort" not "confort"
bill_rr··on Show HN: reallyread.it – like HN but you actually have to read the article
A vast majority of comments on the internet come from people who haven't even read the article or story that they're commenting on. It ruins conversation and makes it hard to find top quality stuff. That's the problem we're trying to solve.

Please share your feedback. What are your first thoughts on our current product?

bill_rr··on Show HN: Simple Bhagavad Gita Search Web App
Exactly. That's how it should work. I searched "love" and got passages "Lord Krishna [...] grieve" which the search included because of LO (from LOrd) and VE (from grieVE) - no mention at all of "love," so not what I was looking for. Just go with standard search.
