biggerChris··on Americans Are Living Paycheck to Paycheck
You do know. We can die anytime. No need to save. A lot of people in the USA save like 3,000 for emergency. Life is a joke.
biggerChris··on Pfizer pays almost $120M for app that detects Covid from a cough
Boys. I’m going to be rich or get my developer account ban for fraud.
biggerChris··on Mark Zuckerberg Is No Longer One of the 10 Richest Americans
What a lame Ass company. Seriously. I hope it goes offline. Their developers portal and open source toys are cool though.

Between 2009-2010.

1. When all my high school friends joined. I created an account and added people. I had about 10 people on there.

Then Facebook decided that I had to pay for those 10 people to see my post, there pop-ups requesting money.

At some point. My post wasn’t reaching people. I would login and nothing was update. But on my friend device, he had just posted it.

We all just went back to texting and paying for data. Back when Moblie companies in the USA charge people by MBs and we couldn’t stream continuously. Basically we all didn’t have smart phones yet. So it was a pain to share stuff digitally, and Facebook just worked.

I think Facebook was doing an experiment to see how they could generate revenue and use their algorithms to manipulate us.

Regardless; they lost people that year, the sample of manipulation of the feed was random. These where 16-18 year olds post not reaching their peers. Can you imagine posting something and non of your friends see it, until Facebook decides when to show it ???? SMH.

Again. In 2017.

2. I tried again to create an account again in 2017 in college for a project to add people. Facebook requested I upload my government ID to verify, it was me. Wtf seriously? Why would anyone do that.

Let’s just say, we found alternatives other than Facebook to share polls, ideas and projects.

At young age. Facebook seriously started manipulating people’s feeds, it’s probably worst now for people who didn’t escape due to machine learning. Lord God. Save those people.

Been coding in C and python since I was 13. I’m 29 now. No way will I allow those high level language take away my ability to think. With that being said. I’m starting to also see a bit of memory decline when I was 27. It seems like I’m googling simple stuff I already know.

Maybe it’s not a cognitive decline but the lack of practice. Because in high school and college. I just coded without googling. Now I’m just copying and pasting.

Maybe, as we get older. We value time and don’t want to learn things that wouldn’t be beneficial long term?

biggerChris··on macOS for Web
Lol. Reminds me of those flash projects we did back in 2006 during high school and college years. Good times. Good to see the new wave of developers and programmers still upholding this.
biggerChris··on Ask HN: What are you doing this weekend?
This guy.
biggerChris··on Whisper – open source speech recognition by OpenAI
We have reached sentient mode.
biggerChris··on Getty Images bans AI-generated content over fears of copyright claims
It’s funny because, I can make an image and they wouldn’t know it’s A.i generated.
biggerChris··on 1Password delisting forum posts critical of their new Electron based 1Password 8
Nice. I was wrong. Comment read like a project manager. You should apply for jobs in Human Resources. Your emails will definitely make that 18 year old developers work 2x to deliver.
biggerChris··on Fruit eating possibly linked to primates' large brain evolution (2017)
What a great username.
biggerChris··on 1Password delisting forum posts critical of their new Electron based 1Password 8
Let me guess. You must be a project manager, but you spent years studying to get a computer science degree, later on started a family and decided to get a job in Human Resources.
biggerChris··on Docker Compose best practices for dev and prod
Yes. I meant port 443.
biggerChris··on Docker Compose best practices for dev and prod
Docker is cool and all.

Kids these days don’t know anything about Tmux and port 433. Exposing localhost to the internet and getting your internet monitored by your ISP and getting letters in the mail; for hosting movies and Storage services.

Lol.

biggerChris··on Mexican Loan Apps, Extortion, and the Google Play Store
Do you have an iPhone and if it’s jailbroken; if Yes. Do you want to implement some of these ideas into Apple lockdown mode Api? Let me know if it’s something you are interested in?
biggerChris··on John Carmack: Best Programming Setup and IDE – Lex Fridman Podcast Clips
Brilliant reference.
biggerChris··on Ask HN: Hetzner banned me with no explanation. What can I do?
What did you run. Facebook, Twitter, telegram(mqtt) or docker copyrighted code on Hetzner? Usually, code from those companies trigger environment variables checks and take- downs.

biggerChris··on You Might Not Need jQuery
2008 was just yesterday. Woah. Time has catch up with my knowledge.
biggerChris··on For blind internet users, the fix can be worse than the flaws
Honestly. My eye sight started improving when I started riding my bike everyday.

So. Do you have a brand of fish oil we all can look into and research?

biggerChris··on Show HN: Reach your localhost server from the internet with LocalXpose
I get it. Reverse proxy but this seems like extra steps.

Kids theses days with their Ngrok and docker instances. What happened to good old networking.
