You can still use all our apis and xml and build your apps. Like I mentioned earlier, you can still use any of the free DID services and those will work with us.
bevenky··on Free Plivo Developer Accounts for Life
Well, I am not the one to comment on them but if you are considering them you will want to consider Plivo as well…

Drop us a note at hello@plivo.com and we will help you with it!

Well, Phone numbers have a carrier cost. Hence we have tried to make this win-win. We give you the credits which allows you to build most of the needed apps on the cloud.

For the Phone numbers, You can still bring your own phone numbers from free services like ipkall.com and virtualphoneline.com

There are a bunch of more services like these if you google around. :)

Plivo will work with any of these around the globe.

If I could use this for our support chat with my customers on a native client, that would be awesome too..

Thanks. Still a long way to go.
bevenky··on Plivo (YC S12) Launches the first SDK that connects WebRTC And SIP
Stanley, Plivo not only allows calling out to SIP addresses, but also allows any SIP Device (hardphone, softphone) to call to a WebRTC endpoint. I am not sure, how the SDK you mentioned here would allow you to do that as Twilio does not support inbound SIP. And thats why the TC article says its a first!

We are very serious about our availability numbers. Quite a few large Enterprise customers who use us, completely depend on us for their telephony infrastructure.

Feel free to email us at hello@plivo.com and we can help you with more specific details.

The features in our platform. Our customers who come from other platforms tell us that it is about the depth of features and the simplicity of our APIs.

We allow you to bring your own carrier services. This is huge for enterprises and service providers.

Our ability to register SIP devices - actually connect your IP phone or soft client

Our support team continues to get rave reviews from our customers…

People? I thought this was supposed to be for marketplaces right?
bevenky··on Profig (YC S12) Launches An Affordable, Feature-Rich Instant Phone System
Just to state on the record, We do support SIP registration and we dont use FreeSWITCH for that. You can manage all of this via both APIs and UI.

Profig does provide this to businesses in a seamless fashion and eliminates the use of regex etc. They have the capability to support both Desktop and mobile SIP Clients.

Everything/everyone doesn't have to be worth based on the $$ you bring us. Your comments sounded interesting and I still feel connecting would be a good idea :)
bevenky··on Plivo makes it to 50 countries in 30 days, outstrips competition
Regarding the first point, can you email us at support@plivo.com, and we will see why it is not working.

Regarding free credits, at this point we made the decision to not offer any at the time of registration. I obviously cannot comment on what others are doing, however happy to connect with you to understand your use case and see how we can get you on boarded.

Voice Calls which heavily depends on Kernel timing for encoding and decoding. Running a OS timer on a virtual machine will mess up things 1. When higher load is pumped 2. Conference audio mixing

Hence AWS or any other Virtual machine wasn't our first choice for Voice/Media Servers.

we are working on adding freephone and outbound sms soon :)
bevenky··on Plivo makes it to 50 countries in 30 days, outstrips competition
we already support wideband and g722 specifically :)

welcome to the party

Not at all. AWS is a bad technology choice for Voice/Media servers. We run on 100% dedicated boxes for our Voice /Media servers which span multiple Data centers to ensure uptime.

And we can still scale as its needed.
