btrfs subvolume snapshot /source/drive/folder/ /source/drive/folder/.snapshots/snapshot-`date +"%Y-%m-%d-at-%I-%M%P"`
this will create a snapshot with date and time attached to the snapshot name
you can more info here
https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/SysadminGuide#Managi...
make sure to remember to delete old snapshots, otherwise you'll run out of disk space and not know where it went
oracle pays the developers of btrfs [0]
redhat hates the guts of oracle, since oracle released oracle linux, which is a clone of redhat enterprise (based on centos)
so, redhat wants to cripple btrfs and hurt oracle.
However, btrfs is my favorite FS, been using it on my home computer and backup drives for at least 6 years, before it was included in the kernel, love the subvolumes, snapshots, and compression; never had issues with it .

[Update] Chris mason no longer at Oracle since 2012
https://roundcube.net/about/#features
I'm looking into a similar solution, and found roundcube.net features to be exactly what I need
however, if there's no need for a license, then it would make it lower cost to build SOC with off the shelf AXI IP
So, as someone who's working on a startup at seed stage, outside silicon valley (Socal), what Marc is saying does not make any sense; networking requires time, and time is very valuable especially at seed stage; I would rather work on developing the product and refine it for market fit, rather trying to spend precious time on meeting with people to expand my network.
your argument of where are the FB patents on react is an example of your naivety
my position all along has been, using other libs than react is LESS likely to violate FB patents, and thus gives more freedom to compete with FB. if that's your definition of load-of-crap, well, that's not my definition.
here's the issue when picking reactjs vs others (like vuejs)
Choice A. by picking reactjs I'm in a clear violation of FB patents, but I'm covered as long I don't sue FB.
Choice B. by picking others (like vuejs), I may or may not be violating FB patents, (virtualDOM has some prior art, as some people claim)
why it's so hard for people to understand that "May or Maynot" is a better choice of "definitely" violating FB patents in case I need to sue FB if they are killing my business by copying my patents.
I know that suing for patents is not best business model. But, having that weapon (even defensively) is better than not having one.
still people downvote for gray areas?
Would you believe that Apple today would use react in their products?
What would Steve Jobs say to someone who suggests using react in apple software/saas?
downvoting on HN is being abused here, just because someone is a big fan of reactjs and disagrees with me, they automatically downvote a valid opinion based on facts.
see for yourself, from react patent clause "The license granted hereunder will terminate, automatically and without notice,"
I really liked D after that, I felt I'm working with python but much faster.
one advice, never use printf function in D, use write() and writeln()
