Great guidelines on choosing SaaS (noted for future deal curation). And you are right about the end times. I'll keep an eye on that for the next bundle.
Thanks for the feedback! It's my first time doing this, and rest assured I'm listening with all ears.
I think the 50% discount applies even when you upgrade. Let me shoot an email to Geckoboard to confirm this.
p.s: You can use https://hackerbundle.com if it still concerns you. I just set it up last night.
Actually it's not tough. You could get a lot done using email ALONE. And, living in Malaysia gives me unlimited runway to keep shipping and experimenting. :)
Thanks!
1. Hacker Monthly #4 (I just made it free), if you like to read this in PDF/MOBI/EPUB format along with few others timeless HN articles: http://hackermonthly.com/issue-4.html
Savings that lasts 5-10 years in the states would lasts you at least 20-30 years here. Most people here speaks English fluently, and the startups/hackers culture here are vibrant and growing.
My good friend quit his cozy programming job in Canada and spent a year travelling and hacking in Malaysia + Singapore. He left with more money than when he started (took very very few consulting jobs in between). Oh, and tons of great (food) memories: http://malaysianfoodporn.com/
Doesn't sound that simple to me (as a complete sysadmin noob). Somebody should write a book about this.
I've implemented most of the feedback, mainly: creator's interview, url screenshot and a new layout[1].
Would really love to know what you guys think of this.

1) I always wanted to start a daily digest/newsletter of some kind and I'm super passionate about side projects.
2) I wanted to learn more about JavaScript, Node.js and Redis.
And there it is. It's built with ~300 lines of code of Node.js + Express + Redis, has an admin area to manage links (I called it 'Backstage'[1]) and MailChimp API integration for automated newsletter sending (both daily and weekly).

My learning resources:
- JavaScript: http://javascriptissexy.com/how-to-learn-javascript-properly... (I'm on week 3-4)
- Node.js: http://www.nodebeginner.org/
- Express (and Redis): http://javascriptplayground.com/blog/2012/06/node-express-to...
P.S: Notice that there weren't any sexy AJAX stuff on the site. It's because I haven't learned one of those front-end MVC framework yet (Backbone/Angular/Ember), which should be my priority this week.
I moved the download links to my own S3.
