bdhcuidbebe··on Compiler Bug Causes Compiler Bug: How a 12-Year-Old G++ Bug Took Down Solidity
Ah yea, why not settle with the 14 year old version?

The MAGA version.

bdhcuidbebe··on Citybound: City building game, microscopic models to vividly simulate organism
Not a fan of earthbound, ey?
bdhcuidbebe··on How well do coding agents use your library?
> If coding agents are the new entry point to your library, how sure are you that they’re using it well?

> I asked this question to about 50 library maintainers and dev tool builders, and the majority didn't really know.

Why should they even bother to answer such a loaded and hypothetical question?

bdhcuidbebe··on Crush: Glamourous AI coding agent for your favourite terminal
> I find it strange how most of these terminal-based AI coding agents have ended up with these attempts at making text UIs flashy.

Its next gen script kids.

bdhcuidbebe··on Never write your own date parsing library
> Juggling is hard.

You should try instead.

I brought jugglers balls for my team and in a few weeks we had 4 or 5 fluent.

bdhcuidbebe··on Never write your own date parsing library
> i don't want to pay my employees to learn

Then how do you expect them to learn?

Good luck getting more blood out of that stone, smh.

bdhcuidbebe··on Never write your own date parsing library
Never say never
bdhcuidbebe··on Internet Archive is now a federal depository library
Read the news, bro.
bdhcuidbebe··on When Is WebAssembly Going to Get DOM Support?
You said browsers didnt ship sqlite due to lack of cross-platform.

I disproved that.

Dont change the goalpost.

bdhcuidbebe··on Why Are We Pretending AI Is Going to Take All the Jobs?
Thats how we can tell you are not a developer without saying you are not a developer.
bdhcuidbebe··on When Is WebAssembly Going to Get DOM Support?
Your argument goes like Sagan’s

if you want to make an omelet, you also need to create the universe.

Your points being unrelated to wasm.

bdhcuidbebe··on When Is WebAssembly Going to Get DOM Support?
> Browsers couldn't even ship SQL because it would inevitably tie them to sqlite, specifically, forever.

Nonsense.

Chrome store their sqlite db in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\databases

And Firefox:

> Why Firefox Uses SQLite

> Cross-Platform Compatibility: Works seamlessly across all platforms Firefox supports.

bdhcuidbebe··on Show HN: Any-LLM – Lightweight router to access any LLM Provider
Many thanks for a detailed response! TIL!
bdhcuidbebe··on Show HN: Any-LLM – Lightweight router to access any LLM Provider
Interesting. I made my comment after visiting their repo and website. Didnt see a pixel worth of the mozilla brand there, hence my comment.

On a second visit I notice a link to mozilla.org on their footer.

Still doesent ring official by me from being a veteran mozilla user (netscape, mdn, firefox) but ok, thanks for the explanation.

bdhcuidbebe··on Show HN: Any-LLM – Lightweight router to access any LLM Provider
What is mozilla-ai?

Seems like reputation parasitism.

bdhcuidbebe··on I watched Gemini CLI hallucinate and delete my files
Because AI apologists keep redefining acceptable outcome.
bdhcuidbebe··on CPU-X: CPU-Z for Linux
Thats where you come in! PR welcome
bdhcuidbebe··on Show HN: Lotas – Cursor for RStudio
Yea, lets make R even more arcane by letting a llm who barley seen any R code attempt to write some.

Some people just want to see the world burn while they roll to the bank.

bdhcuidbebe··on CPU-X: CPU-Z for Linux
cpu-x tries their best to look like their windows precursor, cpu-z…
bdhcuidbebe··on Problems the AI industry is not addressing adequately
We know they hijacked AGI the same way they hijacked AI some years ago.
bdhcuidbebe··on Problems the AI industry is not addressing adequately

bdhcuidbebe··on Isaac Asimov describes how AI will liberate humans and their creativity (1992)
> there's a machine washing your clothes, and there's a good chance it has at least some very basic AI in it.

The term AI clearly has lost all its meaning, so thank you for making it so apparent.

bdhcuidbebe··on Isaac Asimov describes how AI will liberate humans and their creativity (1992)
What Asimov calls AI is not the same as what Sam Altman and the other sharlatans calls AI.

Its usually called AGI these days.

bdhcuidbebe··on The PS3 Licked the Many Cookie
Yea its not true. 7th gen was the last generation where quirks was commonplace and complete ports/rewrites were still a thing. More recent generations is more straight forward and simplified cross-console releases.
bdhcuidbebe··on The PS3 Licked the Many Cookie
> It is important to understand why the PS3 failed.

But did it fail?

PS3 was a very successful 7th gen console, only beaten by the Wii in units sold, but had a longer shelf life, more titles than any other 7th gen console.

bdhcuidbebe··on Why Norway is edging towards a fresh EU membership bid
> Maybe this is because food was never a cultural thing (as opposed to France, Italy, ...)?

Food not a cultural thing? Food defines cultures my friend.
