bazza451··on TypeScript at Google
Real big fan of TS, like anything though you just have to be disciplined when using it. Type absolutely everything and set the transpiler to the most aggressive checks possible... If you’re being lazy and putting : any everywhere and then complaining about how good it is...you’re doing it wrong

In our project I’ve found we make a lot less mistakes than with pure JS and there’s a lot less pointless type check unit tests due to the guarantee’s it gives us. io-ts (https://github.com/gcanti/io-ts) around rest endpoints checking json input as well has been a godsend.

Agree, never had any problem. People just can’t be bothered to learn
bazza451··on Why the New V8 Is So Damn Fast
been using io-to in my latest project, fantastic bit of code hats off to gcanti...Only thing is IntelliJ can’t keep up with the types generated (got an open bug with them)

My main bugbear with GC is the fact their api’s seems to be written with no regards to usability/consistency/stability from a dev perspective.

For instance I wanted to create a project progmatically a few months ago - so check out the docs. Ok v1 of the api has it...wait there’s a v2, it’s been completely removed. where has it been moved to...absolutely no clue. so what am I using now? A deprecated api?

One coin I've seen is wrong is Komodo. It uses DPoW which is a completely different type of security scheme https://wiki.komodoplatform.com/wiki/Delayed_Proof_of_Work_(... even though the webpage says $593 to perform...it would be a lot more difficult

This is what helped me: on a level, everyone in every industry is bullshitting one way or another because the future is unwritten. Who knows what may happen tomorrow, you can only deal with it in the best way you can.

Just try and do the best job possible you can at the time. There will always be people who know more but everything is a learning process, you’ll get to that level eventually.

Again baffling. yeah I bought it but I feel entitled to version 3 because I had version 2. Development costs money...why not pay for it to support people creating great tools.
bazza451··on Xray – An experimental next-generation Electron-based text editor
Agree. Baffling how many developers spend 1/4 of their life programming yet are too cheap to spend money on tools...

Work in progress and only erc20.

Surprises me that Komodo keeps going under the radar. Nearly 30,000 atomic swaps between btc/zcash protocol coins and a working decentralized exchange (BarterDex) with assetchains.

Just demonstrated one of the first implementations of a btc/erc20 swap as well.
