If this was an interview question I would reject the job. You don't seem worth working with.
Medical professionals told her they did everything they can for her and her illnesses would not improve. Maybe there will be future treatment options, but she is an adult in pain and she has the right to change that.
I'll continue doing stuff myself or paying humans. My time is too valuable to waste on empty promises that tech will save me time.
DNA would be significantly harder to fake over 35 years when you're still walking around with your own DNA. Is it perfect? No, but it's a lot more trustworthy in this case than an SSN or driver's license were.
You're right, in an abstract HN bullshit sense. It does not need to be this complicated. Nevertheless it is, for reasons that are much more complicated than setting up a Mastodon instance. You are obtusely ignoring the complications.

Spend time addressing real or imagined defects.
Current work becomes late work. Consequences ensue.
Realize that the consequences are entirely your fault.
Realize that step one applies to your life as a project. Deal according to your emotional constitution (suicide, begging strangers for help, hoping you can get a breakthrough with drugs or therapy).
