Once you have the basic construction of the product you can pitch it to investors or manufacturers and see if you can convince them to take some risk and work with you on it (both of then).
Great idea.
I wonder if there are other ways to confirm data in other instances... (Where recaptha-like processing is n/a).
I don't recall it notifying me of any changes to my profile.
Hopefully they provide power outlets for the laptops.
I'm also thinking of producing something for mobile users. Does it make sense to just stick with a web app or a mobile app is the way to go? (In my case I need the gps of the phone)
Also, did you blog about it? Try getting other bloggers to review your product and offer then an incentive for it.
There are plenty of people on youtube that review products, one comes to mind is iJustine. I know she accepts requests and she has a very large following. Send her a request and maybe she can do your app some justice.
Post videos to youtube as well to promote the app from twitter. Is it on facebook? Vimeo?
Go google!
The same is true for .ppt and .xls
Email is standard on all smart phones.
For universities, you can get the list (although may not be complete) at ratemyprofessor.com. They all have websites over there that you can check out for more info.
Google Maps gives universities and stadiums a diff color in map view. Maybe there is a way to access that data and use it? I don't know.
I agree, you need to be hooked up with some social media or maybe even on college bulletin boards and e-boards online.
i tried adding my school, but i need to add the class prefix and number also? what are you going to go course by course (as everyone adds them)? I would suggest getting the list from http://www.ratemyprofessors.com and crawl the site for all the courses.
good work though, keep it up!
I don't think he will take the idea from me since he has no business experience. We need each other for our respective pieces we contribute. Programmer has admitted to me many times how he has no business sense and he would probably accept any % share. (Might be his love of new projects)
The partnership will be setup in advance of the websites success, if any. The website data will be licensed to companies and only then will we know how important the data is for them.
Since the concept is mine, I should have majority share. Although 'Ideas are a dime a dozen', but a programmer is nobody without a concept. We each need each other: that's what makes a team!
Like I commented above, programmer does 'projects' for sun; I just don't want to come across greedy and take more than is fair!
Its hard to say who will spend more time on the website. The concept is mine and I have already done research on it and I will be doing the manual data entry into the database. The programmer will obviously do the programming, we didn't discuss if he will assist past that.
Business Connections - I have a few connections in the industry I'm planning to service, I don't know how much connection programmer has.
Also, programmer likes to do 'projects' for fun. He's worked on a bunch of products for good of society and I don't know how much he has profited.
