axiomdata316··on SMS Based Password Manager
I doesn't seem like sms would be the securest way to transmit passwords?
axiomdata316··on Stanisław Lem
I'm reading 'The Invincible' right now by Stanislaw Lem. Not only is it good science fiction but it's good fiction period. Really can paint a scene and make you feel like you're right there in it.
axiomdata316··on Amazon sells a kit for a 2600 sqft house
This seems to be the same concept as the Sears Home Kit. https://www.forbes.com/sites/reginacole/2018/10/23/the-sears...
axiomdata316··on I Miss Microsoft Encarta
I remember the cool woosh sound the menus made in Encarta. I also loved the interface that seemed to make it stand out from other Windows applications. I opened up the dlls in Borland C++ to look at the artwork that made up Encarta!
axiomdata316··on Wireguard-docs: Setup, usage, configuration, and a full example
Lol. I know what you mean. Congrats on all the attention you're getting however. BTW I went to your original post and gave you a point. ;-)
axiomdata316··on Nord: An arctic, north-bluish color palette
Looking at the Github page it doesn't look like it's maintained very well. Some of the work on ports haven't been updated for 2 years.
axiomdata316··on Linux Apps on Chrome OS to Support Android-Based VPN
FYI Wireguard vpn protocol already works on ChromeOS!
axiomdata316··on Ever Wished Bill Watterson Would Return to the Comics Page? (2014)
There's a really good documentary on Bill Watterson called "Dear Mr. Watterson". Until recently it was on Amazon Prime but you can still rent it at: https://www.amazon.com/Dear-Watterson-Joel-Allen-Schroeder/d...
axiomdata316··on Myth of the Brown Recluse
This is an odd claim. I live in Riverside where this article was written and found two brown recluse spiders in the last year. One outside by the front door and the second inside my bedroom. The tell tale identifier is the small violin shape in its back. They may not be common in California but they're common in my house in Riverside California just down the road from UCR.

axiomdata316··on Learning from Terminals to Design the Future of User Interfaces
'Software on the web today takes too long to load, depends too heavily on synchronous calls to slow networks, overemphasizes visual gimmickry, and lacks the refinement that allows mastery by more experienced users to gain huge leverage for productivity’s sake.'

This nicely describes the road Intuit has gone down with QuickBooks Online. Slow user interface, and lack of productivity. I wish Intuit would take half the money they spend on Marketing and use it to develop their Desktop offerings of QuickBooks.

axiomdata316··on Jeff Bezos Becomes the Richest Man in Modern History, Topping $150B
Adjusted for inflation John D. Rockefeller is still the richest man in modern history. Today his fortune would have equaled 340 Billion dollars. More than twice Jeff Bezos current net worth.
axiomdata316··on Microsoft details secret ‘pocketable’ Surface device in leaked email
Please oh please!
axiomdata316··on ImWildCat/scylla: Intelligent proxy pool for Humans
Did... description directly from page.
axiomdata316··on What happened, Gmail?
I feel with each Gmail "improvement" Gmail gets slower. I miss the days when Google’s priority was speed and not pretty. I feel less productive when I'm always eating for pretty Gmail to load and respond to actions in the ui.
axiomdata316··on A Beginner´s Guide to Getting Things Done
Just read reply. I'm confused then because both books are about different things. I guess we could also say it was "mercifully shorter than Leo Tolstoy's book".
axiomdata316··on A Beginner´s Guide to Getting Things Done
Cal Newport wrote the book "Deep Work". David Allen wrote "Getting Things Done". Do you mean David Allen instead of Cal Newport?
axiomdata316··on ProtonVPN
I'm really interested in trying this but nervous with how much a cloud service will cost. Is there a free option for a cloud hosting service that I can start with?
