Building Livedocs, a modern day office suite. We're hiring!

There was a suggestion that Jorginho (Chelsea midfielder) unique technique (similar to Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United) can be countered by the keeper playing a double dummy.
There's the old managers adage of "when in doubt, go for power" which has always worked well.
There is a misconception particularly about startups (and I'll be the first to say I was living under the same rock) where they're seen as a magical box where you put a junior developer in on one end and they automatically turn into a seasoned vet on the other end. Yes, this may happen and you definitely will ramp up in terms of skills (both technical and people skills besides learning how to operate as a creative professional, etc) but it requires effort on your employers/managers part too—training, one on ones, feature planning, talking about how you would build before you actually do, what you're building and why, and how/why architectural design decisions were made, etc.
If you find your self out of your depth and in positions where you have to make senior dev decisions with no context or idea how to make them and why you choose the outcome, your management has failed you and perhaps themselves as the outcome will likely harm the team/company more than it will harm you.
Because of the media/telecom gag my non-Kashmir friends find it hard to believe absurd laws imposed by the Indian state, like AFSPA, PSA, etc
Random arrests and extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris by the Indian state is a quite regular occurrence. A laughable narrative around how they were "Pakistan sponsored terrorists" is usually spun by the media/police nexus.
By creating a war-like hysteria in the country, India gets away with doing absurd things: make people believe they are perpetually at war with someone (Pakistan, the muslims, the illegal immigrants, etc) and you can justify bizarre things like firing at civilians, cow terrorism, etc

I was traveling to Kashmir (my home) recently and my whatsapp and phone image gallery was checked at the airport by Indian occupational forces.
There is also mass media propaganda that claims "everything is alright" in kashmir, when in reality India has been worse than a barbaric dictatorship [2] (fueled by jingoism and racism) in Kashmir.

Higher level — You are working on the right problems. I'm working in a different space, but feel like you guys are tackling the same problem: computational mediums try to restrict ideas to the capacity of the medium! Ideas are non-linear and the mediums we use (because we don't have a choice) are linear.
Would love to speak with you guys some time about your thoughts on the space in general.
Website looks slick, btw! Congrats on the launch!

It's like Henry Ford giving people who are looking for faster and more economical transportation an assembly line instead of a car. Here is why:
- Task automation, by definition is supposed to save time and money. By building a developer API, you still need developers (whose time costs more money!) to build and maintain your automations.
- The underlying document model itself cannot be accessed. So what they've made is some kind of HandleBarJS way of creating documents and filling them in.
I'm working on something in a similar space (https://afterclass.co) and we've had to build our own document model and automation handler to work around these two problems. Would be interesting to see how this pans out :)
AfterClass is building the next generation of documents for businesses to automate their document workflows. We are integrating the power of running headless scripts to the ease of a document editor. Our current stack includes: Python (Flask), JS (React), Firebase
We are looking for engineer #1, a full-stack generalist. We are an extremely lean, early-stage B2B company.
If interested, send me an email at arsalan.b4@gmail
All I'm saying is, all things considered, building a business is hard regardless of what age you are.
Also, I agree that raising kids may be something that is more difficult that you additionally have to do (all the other things have no correlation with age), but some of the replies here come off to me like that one jacked dude in the gym giving the newbies stick for being weak. At their current musculature, they are doing the best they can. Difficulty levels are relative.
So you need to understand the work and the math behind it and you will get an idea about the notations used. Not the other way round.
I guess I would say there are other cultures in the world centered around other belief systems (not always religious) that are impossible to grasp as an outsider. As somebody who has lived in both KSA and UAE for a long time, I can tell you that people from the UAE are the most generous, kind, and honestly classy people you will come across (something that is not accounted for when generalizing them as a barbaric people like many do in this post)
I have never seen an Emirati as much as yell at somebody in the streets. Happiness of citizens is actively discussed and worked on, on a government level. Seeing the police makes me feel safe, not threatened.
Maybe that’s why there are so many expatriates there.
You should totally visit. It’s an amazing place.
Also, most people calling out UAE to be a "dangerous" place and make misinformed should really learn more before making blanket statements. I have lived there for half of my life and also lived in the world "largest democracy" and also in the US. I feel safer in the UAE as an immigrant than I do in either of those places.
For context, in India you have PSA, AFSPA, etc which are barbaric laws to which thousands of civilians have lost their lives. In the U.S, most of my Muslim friends (and myself included) feel constantly threatened by racism/xenophobia (this includes physical attacks).
Edit: PSA or Public Safety Act is when the Indian Government can "legally" detain you in Kashmir (an area illegally occupied by India, disregarding UN resolutions to hold a referendum) under the pretext that you are a threat to public safety. Children as young as 14 years old have been booked under this act, and jailed.
AFSPA (Armed Forced Special Powers Act) is when the Indian Armed forces can put a bullet in your head and face no judicial probe, which seems like a violation of international law to me.
Bet Saudi Arabia feels real safe now.
Magnificent app which corrects your previous console command
I left one of my past companies because of something similar. It wasn't even a "hard pivot", we were an EdTech company catering to higher ed, and then switched to a complete different product, now selling to parents of kids under the age of 8.
Two months later I realised I just wasn't excited enough about building apps for kids (this is a great market and has a lot of potential, it just wasn't my thing)
The company is still doing sort of okay, but I couldn't picture myself spending 6-8 months there. It felt like taking a formula 1 car and putting it in Dubai traffic. I even felt slightly guilty of not caring enough about "making the buttons bigger so kids can tap them and feel playful".
I'm currently working on something entirely different in the productivity space as a one man team with no funding but the process already feels more rewarding. So while I'm still working on something entirely different, starting from scratch and failing (personally atleast) was an important step along the way.
I'm solving a problem that I really care about and often tell myself that I would build/use this product for myself anyways. I do have some promising feedback from potential users but what's more important to me is the sense of fulfilment which leads to motivation which then leads to discipline, and this would just not be possible if I was working on something I'm not excited about or felt I didn't sign up for.
