I get that you can assemble a phone PCB with SMT parts yourself, that’s not that crazy
But is there actually an American made SoC that can be used for a phone?
No one gets promoted doing it
The implementations get compiled in based on whatever platform you’re compiling for using a bunch of #ifdef statements
In that case it’s just a matter of not including certain .h/.cpp files
But once you’re more experienced you realize complexity is arbitrary and anyone can make things more complex
Do you think the Linux kernel could be written in a language without types enforced?
When I was in uni CS majors could take multiple gamedev classes but they were electives
And the focus is like all on 1-person indie projects with very little content from professional/AAA devs
I guess a more general question: do barcodes have checksums? Or QR codes for that matter?
Hyper-comercialization of music, social media, influencers, marvelification of movies, etc…
Feels very saturated and overproduced at the moment
I wouldn’t be suprised if in the coming decades the pendulum will swing towards more a cultural trend of minimalism and authenticity as a reaction to that
2D printers are not open source and you can still print pretty much anything
Hearing the same 10 second clip of a song 20 times
The writing quality feels like that of a university student
Just lots of assertions thrown out without any real backing
Digital circuits, FPGAs, microcontrollers, basic electronics, lots of making stuff on breadboards
One of my big undergrad projects was to build a CPU from scratch on an FPGA and write an assembler for it
Hot take: CE is a better foundation for programming than CS

Another good one is The Tyger by Blake
Unfortunately thats not a thing, you don’t use a pick to play violin

Working at Amazon on boring internal HR tech is very different than working on S3
And those companies will inevitably want it to do everything
Like if I kill an enemy in some room and walk all the way across the map and come back, would the body still be there?
And the topic hasn’t been fully explored yet so there’s a lot of low hanging fruit
What is there not to buy?
They tested it in mice and it increased lifespan, they never claimed it worked for humans in the study.
> To test whether taurine deficiency is a driver of aging in humans as well, long-term, well-controlled taurine supplementation trials that measure health span and life span as outcomes are required.
Did you read the abstract?
That seems like a really strange rule to have
You can long press on an image and it cuts out whatever thing it thinks you're pressing on
They also use it in interesting ways, like making stuff in the photo slightly overlap the clock on the lockscreen
Does anyone know if that works the same way as this?
Is there a genre of art like this?
That focuses on seemingly mundane stuff?
