arcdigital··on Ask HN: What would happened if an operator of a gTLD went out of business?
ICANN would take control and find a new operator. There is a pretty long and tedious process involved with operating a gTLD, including proving that you have the appropriate finances and resources to support the domain.

SwiftKey Keyboard is now on iOS as well.

arcdigital··on Setting up federated addresses with Stellar
I've decided to work on a hosted federation service like gdb mentioned at the end of his post. More details to follow.

arcdigital··on Who owns these gTLD companies?
Those companies are usually Donuts Group companies. (www.donuts.co). If you look them up here:

https://gtldresult.icann.org/application-result/applications...

You'll see the contact listed has a donuts.co email address. For example, try .exchange

arcdigital··on Ask HN: php development environment
For a dev environment I would use a vagrant box. Take a look at puphpet.com

Framework-wise I'd recommend checking out Laravel.

arcdigital··on Ask HN: SSL Certs need to be revoked, right?
When you have a CA rekey a cert, they will revoke the old one. (This doesn't apply if you are using your own CA, I'm only talking about commercial ones like Globalsign, Geotrust, Comodo, etc...)
arcdigital··on You know PHP has problems when this is how Facebook writes polymorphic functions
You're right. Luckily it's being fixed.

arcdigital··on Gmail was down
I wasn't able to access gmail (same error 500/93), so I just closed all my tabs and went on HN for 15 mins. I then tried getting on again, and it seems to be working for me.
arcdigital··on Ask HN: Where do you buy logos for your MVP?
I've had pretty good luck with Envato's Microlancer site. A good number of people are offering decent logos for under $100.
arcdigital··on Ask HN: Why do all payment processors charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction?
Are you from the US? If so, that stuff about merchant accounts isn't true. While they're backed by a bank (acquiring bank), you don't have to go to a consumer bank to get one. You can go through any company called an ISO. In my opinion banks are the worst place to get one. We do merchant accounts with a monthly fee of $5/mo and instant setup (you can start processing in less than 2 minutes from when you complete the form). All backed by our friendly customer service team in Ohio.

Now if you're in the UK...things are very different :).

arcdigital··on Ask HN: Why do all payment processors charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction?
It has to do with the fact that the processors you are talking about are called "PSPs" or Payment Service Providers. 2.9% + $0.30 is a standard rate that incorporates risk, operations, interchange (visa/mc), etc... while still making a profit. That's why PayPal, Stripe, etc... price accordingly.
arcdigital··on Ask HN: Stripe (dev friendly payment api) with pluggable merchant accounts?
If I understand what you're saying correctly, you're basically asking for a payment gateway with a dev friendly API that allows you to change out merchant accounts easily? If so, this is something my company is launching in the next 2 months or so depending on audits and stuff.

arcdigital··on Startups that TechCrunch missed out on
We will be launching US only, however Canada will be following shortly after (1-2 months) and then the UK is next on the list (3-4 months).
arcdigital··on Startups that TechCrunch missed out on
Hey, I'm with Approve.io and yes unfortunately our site is a little bare at the moment. We have a full site which we will be releasing shortly. We're funded and past the MVP stage and will be launching August.
