anonymouscaller··on How to stop the “login with Google” pop up window?
I've blocked it by adding the following to my custom filter list in uBlock:

anonymouscaller··on Another cluster of potentially malicious Chrome extensions
My question is how are these extensions with malware being "featured" on the web store? Are humans at Google running these applications and featuring them or is it AI/an algorithm?
anonymouscaller··on Service Rents Email Addresses for Account Signups
I understand this is designed for illegal use, but honestly this is quite neat. Now if only these criminals applied their skills for legitimate uses...
anonymouscaller··on Colorado districts built up a supply of Chromebooks. Some are nearing their end
I'm a high schooler and I can say I need a chromebook/personal device for almost every one of my classes. Everything is digital and embeded into the Google ecosystem. A good 95% of writing is done on Google Docs, slideshows are created on Google Slides, and then this work is turned in on Google Classroom.

While yes, computer labs with traditional desktop PCs would be more economically feasible, they simply aren't possible for public schools (at least the one I go to) today.

anonymouscaller··on 47% of all internet traffic came from bots in 2022?
Web is HTTP, so websites and videos. The internet is everything, including the web from SSH (remote server login), RDP (remote desktop login), to torrenting.
anonymouscaller··on 47% of all internet traffic came from bots in 2022?
Cloudflare (CDN with a much larger market share) claims that in the past four weeks, the percent of bots vs. humans is about ~29%. Almost 50% seems like a stretch.

anonymouscaller··on U.S. Hits Z-Library with New Domain Name Seizures
How? It's Tor, the Onion cannot see your IP.

I'm not sure how large z-lib is, but LibGen is ~120TB. You can pick up a 5TB external HDD on Amazon for ~$100, so it would cost a good $2400 dollars for the raw storage costs if you wanted to host it all yourself. You really have to wonder how the owners fund all of this.

Edit: fixed my math

anonymouscaller··on Police to use live facial recognition in crowds at King Charles coronation
It's only a matter of time before this is sadly widespread in the west. I'm sure it already is, we just don't know about this.
anonymouscaller··on Searches for VPN Soar in Utah Amidst Pornhub Blockage
Wouldn't int'l users choose the location closest to them? If you're in China for instance you're probably going to be using SIN or TPE. Besides, most VPN providers avoid Amazon and use colo providers that give much better deals on bandwidth.
anonymouscaller··on We glued together content moderation to stop soccer pirates
Before the paid/pro plan, Telegram was definitely burning a hole in Durov's wallet, but now without knowing how many people have subscribed to the paid plan, it's really hard to say. How do these pirate streams work on telegram? Are people using video chat to steam through the app or are people just sharing links?
anonymouscaller··on Some Schools Are Blocking Replit to Prevent Kids from Coding
IMO seems like another attempt at using a platform not for ads for ads.

Replit has used the following platforms for ads that shouldn't be used for ads:

- change.org - ProductHunt - HackerNews

Why not use a mainstream form of ads?
