angryasian··on ChatGPT – The Revolutionary Bullshit Parrot
I think you give most people too much credit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtkX3OyPF4Q

"recent polls have shown 1/5 of Americans can't locate the US on a world map why do you think this is"

"I personally believe that us Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the Iraq everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here in the US should help the US or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq in the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future"

I believe a majority of people provide answers like this.

angryasian··on Epic’s new motion-capture animation tech
is this already released for people to try out ?
angryasian··on Yes, of course we should ban TikTok
... written by a conservative that borders on fascist beliefs. thanks
angryasian··on Silicon Valley Bank unmasks the hypocrisy of libertarian tech bros
again its debateable. VC's caused all their portfolio teams to pull their money. Had they all relaxed and just waited SVB to raise... is there even an issue ?
angryasian··on Silicon Valley Bank unmasks the hypocrisy of libertarian tech bros
all banks are under capitalized. no bank could stand that kind of bank run
angryasian··on Silicon Valley Bank unmasks the hypocrisy of libertarian tech bros
How is it not their fault ? The Bank run was caused by VC's telling their portfolio companies to pull their funds based on a weak signal. Raising money shouldn't have been enough to cause this kind of panic.
angryasian··on The average erect penis length increased by 24% over 29 years
from behind the balls
angryasian··on Apple doesn’t want you developing hobby apps
let not be naive in saying that its still not possible. It is but a lot less. Companies have been getting better at bug bounties, education, and in general people working more with the technology
angryasian··on TikTok May Be a Chinese Superweapon
This is all anti chinese BS. There is nothing specific to tiktok and applies to every social network
angryasian··on Bosses Give Workers Bullshit ‘Manager’ Titles to Avoid Paying Overtime: Study
The primary reason is to avoid increasing pay so you hand out titles
angryasian··on Show HN: Futurecoder – A free interactive Python course for coding beginners
The only downside is theres multiple ways to reach the same outcome, and unless you program it exactly what you're looking for it gives a false negative that the solution isn't correct
angryasian··on The next step in ecommerce – replatform with APIs and micro front ends
I feel like this really is for like a small percentage of companies. If you're already significantly investing in developers to build out a customized front end and infrastructure dev ops, eventually you might move to invest in the back end as well.
angryasian··on Tell HN: Tired of Hearing about ChatGPT
Its certainly debatable but overall I'd say yes.
angryasian··on Tell HN: Tired of Hearing about ChatGPT
honestly thats a weird take. IMO its one of the greatest transformations in the last 20 years.
angryasian··on Launch HN: JumpWire (YC W22) – Easily encrypt customer data in your databases
I guess but yeah usually the hot databases will be encrypted. When moving to the data lake / warehouse its all unencrypted. I think it really comes down to What kind of data you're working with.

Last Password was hacked twice this year. How many data breaches are there on a regular basis. The reality is the cost of trouble worth the possibility. As much as everyone wants to say they care about users data, the reality in most companies is very different.

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
Thats exactly my point. Should could have but she doesn't want look bad and she maximized her profits.
angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
>Ticketmaster literally holds back a large number of tickets specifically to sell to scalpers.

only 5% of taylor swift tickets ended up on the secondary market. This is just false.

Second if scalpers are selling @ cost tickets on secondary markets, TM is not even the biggest. Stubhub is. How does that benefit TM ?

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
>they own the reseller platform

They don't own the reseller platform. Stubhub is the largest in this category.

>There is nothing convenient about their convenience fees and they aren't innovating to benefit customers (or artists to be honest)

You're pretending the goal here is not to maximize artist profit. Theres a lot that the artist could demand to fix all of these problems. They don't

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
You're assuming TS cares. She could have easily done a lot to fix this. Restrict resale of tickets. Price tickets higher. Hand out specific codes to only people in her fan club to buy tickets.

She made hundreds of millions on this tour. Its funny you all think that maximizing her profit wasn't the goal here

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
lol i don't think seeing a popular music artist is a public interest issue.
angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
>(leading to long-term underinvestment).

Even Google and Amazon struggle on huge black friday events. This is ridiculous.

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
>Swift hasn't. And probably won't in the future, thats the gist of it.

She probably made several hundred million on this tour. She could fix all the problems but she doesn't want to.

Its TM's job to take this bad press

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
They can but it has to be at the artist request. She wants the headlines. lets not be naive
angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
This is exactly the problem. You need to gate keep by price or exclusivity.
angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
>what kind of value Ticketmaster adds

Not sure if you're being serious, thats like saying what kind of value does Amazon add selling other stores products.

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
Can't scalp in person but scalping online is totally legal. How is that TM's problem.

If people aren't scalping tickets on TM they will do it on the stubhub, seatgeek, vivid, etc.

The overall problem is arbitrage. These tickets are literally worth 1k and are selling for 100.

angryasian··on Ticketmaster's tech problem isn't a tech problem
This is just false. Look at Axs and SeatGeek. Are you really trying to say their systems are better.

Even google and Amazon struggle on Black Fridays

angryasian··on Google may be only a year or two away from total disruption
I have a lot of respect for Paul but this is very sensationalist.
angryasian··on Launch HN: JumpWire (YC W22) – Easily encrypt customer data in your databases
I've worked with systems like this in the past. It becomes a huge burden eventually when you have teams like marketing, analytics, etc that need access to the raw data and you eventually have to store all this stuff somewhere else unencrypted.
angryasian··on Snap is ordering employees back to the office 4 days a week
Snap is struggling they are under $10 now. Ending WFH wouldn't be the right move to recruit talent.
