Is there such a thing as a cheap drum scanner.
I'm very curious how expensive sensors are though, that capture this data in a single shot, I've not seen any prices so far.
I found this print that uses 'Integral imaging' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0MP6mW7BW0

Heh, I just came across this though "Our Firefly Petunias are protected under patent, and as such, propagation and breeding are not permitted. These petunias are sold exclusively for personal use."
Edit: https://patents.google.com/patent/US11913033B2 curious if anyone has come across DIY versions?

Just started playing with it with my spectrometer based on one of the examples they have, to convert spectral data to a single RGB value.
As well as been playing with creating plastic keys using a flatbed scanner with the printer.
You can also apparently electrically trigger the closing of fly trap - https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.4161/psb.2.3.4217
Edit: Upon doing some more reading it sounds like a photosite or sensel, isn't a group of sensors, but a single sensor, which can pick up r,g,b,.. light - "each individual photosite, remember, records only one colour – red, green or blue" - https://www.canon-europe.com/pro/infobank/image-sensors-expl...
I couldn't seem to find a particular name for the RGGB/.. pattern that a bayer filter consists of an array of.

I came across this recently - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoluminescence where it sounds like some rocks emit light upon heating.
