andsens··on ZeroVer: 0-Based Versioning
... and they geared up for it by releasing two breaking versions in the year leading up to v1.0.0. I managed to catch the entire upgrade path from 0.11 to 0.12 to 0.13 to 0.15. Good times.
andsens··on The Bourne shell lets you set variables in if expressions
It's worse than that actually, `set -e`/"errexit" is disabled for function calls in ifs. Meaning this:

    set -e
    fn() {
        false
        echo "didn't exit"
    }
    if fn; then
        echo "fn() succeeded"
    fi
will output

    didn't exit
    fn() succeeded
andsens··on A Way to Manage Dotfiles
Just throwing my solution for dotfiles synchronization into the mix as well here, homeshick: https://github.com/andsens/homeshick

Maintained for 8 years now, 1.7k stars, only needs git >=1.5, bash >=3, and no root access to install.

It's well tested, stable, and super hackable to fit your needs.

Yeah, I misread it the same way you did. He meant that he was just searching for her name, he wasn't creating a page for her.

Awesome talk. Thank you for the link!
andsens··on Help Message for Shell Scripts
My time to shine! I built an argument parser that uses a POSIX compliant help message as the input. It's a parser generator really. It generates minified bash that is inlined in your script, so no dependencies. The work is based off of docopt (and is docopt compliant). Check it out: https://github.com/andsens/docopt.sh

Oh damn. For a second there I confused IPFS with pingfs: https://github.com/yarrick/pingfs

Not the same thing, not the same thing at all...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egg_of_Columbus

> An egg of Columbus or Columbus' egg refers to a brilliant idea or discovery that seems simple or easy after the fact. The expression refers to an apocryphal story, dating from at least the 15th century, in which it is said that Christopher Columbus, having been told that discovering the Americas was inevitable and no great accomplishment, challenges his critics to make an egg stand on its tip. After his challengers give up, Columbus does it himself by tapping the egg on the table to flatten its tip.

andsens··on Using GNU Stow to manage your dotfiles
Hi, I'm the maintainer of homeshick and would be very interested in knowing which shortcomings of homeshick motivated you to write your own tool. Could you elaborate?
