But just spek.cc (liked on the github) is a substack site (odd choice for a project homepage) with version 8.5 downloads.
Github: https://github.com/alexkay/spek Substack: https://www.spek.cc/p/download
Shouldn't it search for the URL instead?
Am I missing something?
Also, I noticed the tracking parameters are in the URL of the old thread. Shouldn't the mods remove them using https://linkcleaner.app/ or something? I know the parameters are sometimes relevant but still...
If you eyeball power of 10 at the top and bottom of a fraction. The over and under estimates tend to cancel out and you will end up with a surprisingly small logarithmic error.

The only prerequisite for being good at Fermi Estimation is memorizing/getting and intuition about the world around you, and knowing what exactly you are trying to estimate.
This is written for which audience. For a person who doesn't know physics this is a very long and confusing explanation. Explaining that some units depend on others, and the importance of the ability to reproduce the metric system on your own, is much more important than the whole pre-story of length standards.
There are lots of unanswered questions. What was the second defined as? Don't you measure time using a pendulum? Why was the astronomical definition more reliable?
For a person who does know physics you can write a much shorter and clearer explanation eg.:
"For a universal definition of the meter you need a constant that appears in nature, such as gravity. You could measure the distance an object falls in some amount of time, but it is easier to use a pendulum.
Pendulums swing consistently with a period approximately equal to 2pisqrt(string length/gravity). I you were to use pi^2 for gravity, than after the square root the pis would cancel out, leaving T = 2*sqrt(Length). This is useful because a 1 meter pendulum takes 2 seconds to swing back and forth (1 second per swing.)
Clocks at that time were quite accurate, with the second being reproducible from astronomical measurements. So you could take a pendulum, fiddle with it's length until it does exactly one swing every second, and then use the string or stick to measure whatever you wanted.
That was great so they changed gravitational constant so it would equal pi^2 (9.87 m/s^2). (If you decrease the meter, everything will become longer.)
Then they found out that gravity differs along earth's surface and a perfect mathematical pendulum proved to be difficult to reproduce, so they switched to an astronomy based definition based on the size of earth. That turned out to be broken as well, so they held a physical meter long stick in Paris. A few years ago physicists started using the plank constant which is the smallest possible distance you can measure."
Not sure if that helps for your specific usecase.
Also, Mermaid (https://mermaid.js.org/) exists.
Also, the ad provider (https://www.ethicalads.io/) is just displaying the dev's own Patreon page? (https://www.patreon.com/cadey)
And I just realized there is a scam opportunity in ads on small sites like this. In ad provider for the Indie web, run an ad with a fake donation button. Might fool some readers into donating to the scammer thinking they are supporting the blogger.
This is because the "timeline knowledge" quickly breaks and because the character went to university in his past life he is destroying kids his age making him look smart.
Someone should do "How to take over the world!" if you woke up 50 years ago.

There are very few tricks I rely on: 1. Skin is to smooth and shiny 2. Some kind of blur or glow 3. clear logical mistake in the picture 4. I know the picture/artwork already 5. AI could not have come up with something this deep. 6. Hands
However there are several factors working against you: 1. Real photographers tend to like the moody/glowy/shiny look of pictures. 2. Your knowledge about the topic comes from the internet and above mentioned photographers. You trained on the same dataset the AI did. 3. In these tests you know one is real and one is AI 4. In real settings the person publishing the picture can avoid do the quality control to make sure it isn't obvious, or collect data from tests like these to improve first. (Next level of captcha: is this image real or fake?)
They make collaboration software intended to be Google Cloud Office Suite alternatives.

I am not sure what to think of them, most things they make have bigger more popular open-source alternatives.
But it shouldn't be to hard finding each of these individually.

Pretty sure this is another startup scam that doesn't know what it is doing.
Benchmarks are A/B tests. What you are talking about is called a "profiler" and if you google "JavaScript Profiler" quite a few will come up (including an extension).
Modern Browsers have a "Task Manager" in "three dots" > More Tools > Task Manager.
I realized I don't know what the actual bottlenecks are on websites. Background processes adding up across tabs I assume? If someone knows please tell me/us.
- 1. Fast startup - 2. Fast adding an extra note - 3. Editing - 4. Sync - 5. Crossplatform - 6. Easy to forward messages - 7. Stable/Trusted/(Encrypted?)
2, 4, and 5 are the main ones probably
- Telegram lacks 1 (fyi I use telegram) - WhatsApp lacks 1 and kinda 3 - Discord lacks 1 2 and 6 (I don't remember discord working well offline) - All other note apps lack 2, 4, and 5 (core features) and focus on markup instead.
Feature 1 - fast startup seems to be the only problem with existing messengers. The best solution would be a custom crossplatform telegram client or similar that piggybacks off existing trusted messengers for sync etc.
I hack and track down the lines of code responsible for the issue (which allows the maintainer to quickly patch the issue), but can't confidently implement large patches as I often don't even know the libraries being used.
"Real programmers" know exactly how the codebase is structured and confidently fix both their own and other people's bugs. (Maybe this is just my lack of confidence)
I find it very hard for external sources to support my thinking (if they do I don't read them but save for later comparison). If anything they prove me wrong when I am on the wrong path.
Writing about something fixes (most) wrong thoughts, and since you are wrong in 99% of cases you can safely say that you are wrong unless you have written about it.</div>
There are similar quotes about meditation and walking so they are all part of the same toolkit (and it is great if you can use any part of it).
