Most of my experience is with Python, Bash, HTML, CSS/SCSS. I am starting to learn low-level systems languages like C and Rust, with a focus on Rust. Im also getting myself familiar with relational databases. I'm still getting a feel for what I actually want to do, so I experiment a lot, just like to learn how stuff works.

I'm a junior developer, kinda seeking a mentor or someone to work on projects with. If you're interested, email me at eminent_went_0d@icloud.com.

Why would you want to adopt a trend instead of developing with your personal style?

I also want to add that I have an 'unsubscribe' label for my email inbox that automatically sucks marketing emails into its own little black hole, outside of my primary inbox. It works by regex'ing any inbound email for the word "unsubscribe" and then puts it in its own inbox. Also why does <br> not work

This is honestly so true. I'll admit i had to do some research on what plan 9 and Multics is. My only question is why do you think we should be using Multics?

My daily experience with the nightmare that is iOS is what prompted me to ask. It's definitely unrelated to software development on a desktop. But if I had a nickel for every time something about iOS pissed me off(which is usually completely immutable by the way), I'd probably just buy Apple. There's just so many aspects of iOS that imply seemingly lazy development. Like the god-awful Shortcuts app, which is like, the only grain of rice they offer to more technical users(and ive seen apps in an alpha state that are more stable). And the requirement to have a developer account to submit feedback or report a bug is bewildering. I asked because i don't know much about OS X, and it's hard for me to imagine that Apples software design choices are not also present on their desktop OS.

Just speculating here, but I'm open to input or counterpoints.

In regards to the term 'lost sales'... are these sales truly even lost? I imagine that if somebody is scrolling through a list of ROMS for games available to download, it's probably a significantly different experience than scrolling through the Nintendo e-shop hunting for a new game to play.

For the ROM list: "oh hey, that looks kinda cool. downloads file"

For the e-shop(same exact game): "looks kinda cool, but not '$40' cool, lol keeps scrolling"

I'd almost play with the idea that ROM emulation could, in some circumstances, increase sales for Nintendo, for example the new console 'Nintendo Foo' comes out, no emulation avenues yet, but a sequel for a game you played on an emulator is only available on the new console. Cha-ching.

'Lost sales' as a reason for litigation doesnt _seem_ to have very stable footing from a logical perspective, albeit I imagine it's only a justifiable means to an end for Nintendo. These little dramas are always so exciting.
