anaganisk··on Waymo and Uber partner to bring autonomous driving technology to Uber
But that doesn't create any profit, it's only a convenience for some random number on a sheet. Also managers probably don't like remote work in that industry :p

Google doesn't even want to have human interaction, and Google's reputation for sure didn't help it in chat and social network spaces either. And I'm sure Google doesn't even want to work it with restaurants and drivers, because you can't just put an AI algorithm to deal with their issues. Small businesses go through a lot to just edit their own listings on local businesses, I wouldn't wish Google to be the middle man for my deliveries.
anaganisk··on Waymo and Uber partner to bring autonomous driving technology to Uber
The power of Uber doesn't lie in it's app, Google famously has been forever trying to have a chat app and we all know how many times it's failed. Then comes Google+, Google's attempt to get into social networking. Unless Google came up with something novel or something different from incumbents it never ever succeeded. Any SWE worth his salt can build a ride booking app in a month or two, but the traction and confidence in using that app both by riders and drivers is what drives its success.

Honest question, their biggest organic signals are from Google or bing, who happen to be the biggest model makers right now ("Open"AI and Bard). What's stopping them from using their crawl data and building models. All reddit is doing is building a gate for small players while big players will leech their data anyway.
anaganisk··on US Air Force shoots down drone swarm with THOR microwave weapon
Know this is supposed to be a joke but why
anaganisk··on Simulated Hospital
Baiting healthcare forcussed devs/startups for acquiring? Analyzing how people are building apps using this data to build their own? Free training data for their next product? Amazon is kinda growing in healthcare and maybe Google doesn't want to be behind.

anaganisk··on OpenAI CEO wants A.I. licensed for company benefit
Lol, they can eat shit, US is not the only country. AI can and will flush elsewhere. If they can't be innovated here.
anaganisk··on GitHub Incident
But currently that's not the beauty part of GitHub, it's the actions, discoverability and other features not part of Git.
anaganisk··on Microsoft Says New AI Shows Signs of Human Reasoning
Well many fell for Watson, I'm not sure how MBAs just believe anything marketing says.

Man is an elitist, he expects you to watch it on IMAX or bust. It's filmed and optimized only for IMAX nothing else.

I'm with you if you're talking about krita, GIMP doesn't even register as a blip, if you are comparing it with Photoshop. Not opened but photopea.com and Affinity are the only best ones that come very close.

anaganisk··on Former ByteDance exec claims company used bots to inflate TikTok engagement
There is Ton of TikTok content always posted on reddit. And most of the content is just recycled, from different platforms.

So US being supportive of Israel is not being an accomplice in genocide?
anaganisk··on The new .zip TLD is going to cause some problems
Because the big guy in the middle wants $$$. If you are able to achieve worldwide switching DNS, ICANN to another set of rules you could.
anaganisk··on TikTok Owner Had 'Backdoor' for CCP Access to US Data, Lawsuit Alleges
But it's the US, it's the bastion of democracy. Govt here doesn't put backdoors, doesn't sponsor crypto companies, doesn't target individuals and ship them to overseas camps to avoid torture laws. Wage fake wars. Doesn't use it's intelligence agencies to interfere with other countries. Oh!

anaganisk··on Story: Redis and its creator antirez
Not sure which country you are speaking about but in the majority of the countries in the world they're not. Those jobs are severely underpaid. Also if supply increases, demand also decreases, hence leading to further loss. Imagine the level of hopelessness, anger and despair which is already the case in the avg population because of inflation etc, if their jobs are suddenly automated. Bank tellers weren't educated to become Bank tellers, They could move on to other front desk jobs. But things corporations want to automate with AI are basically the core of many people who got educated for that job. The change you are talking about is not gonna switch easily. We don't have to sit in an Ivory tower and say, "change happens", you can't just make an entire generation to become educated for something and just drop em.
anaganisk··on Internet disrupted in Pakistan amid arrest of former PM Imran Khan
neither Gazwa-e-Hind nor Islam as one true religion was not cause or even ideas behind partition. And speaking about Gazwa-e-Hind, while conveniently ignoring Akhand Bharat, is pure propaganda. If you read about Jinnah in old school history books which unfortunately are being edited out by NCERT in India, he was never was religiously motivated. His idea was Muslim population would be a minority in Hindu controlled state, which wasn't far fetched, look at Indian politics right now, which runs on the basis of Muslim hatred. Also claiming things like Gazwa-e-hind(Ignoring Akhand Bharat) and Muslims believing in one true religion and then saying India is tolerant or Muslims and secular becomes an Irony. You can't run both ways. Also the violence during partition were on both sides, not just one side.
anaganisk··on SBF says “dishonesty and unfair dealing” aren’t fraud, seeks to dismiss charges
Aren't all corporations basically following the same mantra, I mean some companies active here on HN, constantly bait and switch, have misleading labels or policies. What's new here? I mean why exactly is this particular case so different?
anaganisk··on Internet disrupted in Pakistan amid arrest of former PM Imran Khan
I don't know what you are trying to say here, but it didn't have to be violent and persist after too, that's exactly what I was saying by "drifting apart". If they felt safer as a separate nation to have their interests protected that shouldn't be the cause of bitterness. Jinnah and Nehru had both been adamant on their stances, former was proponent of federal governance while later a central. India had several bifurcation of states, it helped in better representation. Recent AP, Telangana state bifurcation was done after much violence, did they drift apart? Does an avg person of the 2 states have anything against each other now? That was exactly my point, for avg people they're just other people, we are constantly washed by propaganda to believe they're enemies.
anaganisk··on Internet disrupted in Pakistan amid arrest of former PM Imran Khan
So you made a throwaway to say this? Did you even read my comment properly? I said average citizens and people like you again go back to propaganda.

Tell me what BJP uses to win elections all the time? Hatred against Muslims?

Top BJP Subramaniyam swami was quoted saying "Muslims are not equals, so they don't need equal rights".

>They preach hatered towards Hindus/Jews in their schools (books are filled with hatred).

Ofcourse, because your propaganda says so? I've met Pakistanis in real life in the US, and none of them want to hate me or kill me even the older generation ones. Also doesn't RSS, VHP, Bajarang dal do the same in India?

Both governments failed us. We're fighting because they say so, tell me on a personal level what you hate about them?

anaganisk··on Internet disrupted in Pakistan amid arrest of former PM Imran Khan
No I wasn't talking about the Pakistan state, I literally said an avg citizen. Calm down, dial down the propaganda and read my comment again.
anaganisk··on Internet disrupted in Pakistan amid arrest of former PM Imran Khan
I was waiting for you to arrive, not you literally but some propaganda machine, I've moved to the US last year for higher education, and fortunately for me here I was able to meet a lot of Pakistani's. And not once did anyone say anything against India or me. In fact even the older generation was so thoughtful, and recognized our shared culture and history. And they were sometimes more friendly and less judgemental than fellow Indians here.

> Do you know what is officially taught in schools for India (and Hindus)?

Please enlighten me, how a govt controlled curriculum, doesn't affect what's thought in schools. Which is exactly what my point was and BJPs influence on NCERT in the past few years are no better.

If you come outside the bubble of propaganda between both the countries, you quickly realize how played the citizens of both nations are.

anaganisk··on Internet disrupted in Pakistan amid arrest of former PM Imran Khan
Contrary to popular belief, at least in my country (India). I feel bad for the citizens of Pakistan. There has not been a single stint of govt that has lasted peacefully since independence. A country can never grow without a peaceful transfer of power, and constant political imbalance will just not allow anything to advance.

A shared history/culture with us and it's a shame our govts have differences. We fought together to gain freedom and just drifted apart.

Average citizens of both the countries, have nothing against each other, but propaganda doesn't just shut up on both sides, and tries to keep riling people up, and becomes the main topic to get elected.

A peaceful south Asia, would've been the glorious and powerhouse of the world like in the past.
