amazingamazing··on Kimi-K3 Technical Report [pdf]
Not at all. It is easy to bake in a specific response to a given prompt in the model.
amazingamazing··on Nvidia's $750B in Deals Reignite Circular AI Fears
Nope. The simplest rebuttal to all of this is: why dont they pay cash?
amazingamazing··on How is the Bun rewrite in Rust going?
Why though? Isn't AI supposed to take care of such things?
amazingamazing··on How is the Bun rewrite in Rust going?
Why did they buy an open source project anyway? If is not “officially” supported why not fork and use? Claude code is probably the most used anyway
amazingamazing··on Open-weight AI is having its Kubernetes moment
Rex 3090 isn’t free. Even if you already owned it, it wasn’t free. That’s years of a $20 subscription
amazingamazing··on Open-weight AI is having its Kubernetes moment
Sadly until china scales production of hardware it really isn’t economical to run this stuff yourself. It is good it exists though to put pressure against the labs.

Honestly imo this is just proof apple will win in the end. Eventually a phone will be able to run a model good enough to do most things and it then is game over.

amazingamazing··on The Silurian Hypothesis (2020)
right, so how can one easily say this hypothesis is false? "advanced civilization" seems to be strangely characterized. would something a few steps above beavers be advanced enough?
amazingamazing··on The Silurian Hypothesis (2020)
if all dolphins were wiped out could we know that they were ever here from physical evidence?
amazingamazing··on Corporate America Has Suddenly Decided to Stop Blowing Money on AI
Source?
amazingamazing··on Hannah Fry Wins the Leelavati Prize in 2026 for Mathematics Outreach
interestingly you are starting to see a similar emphasis on outreach in tech these days with "forward deployed engineers" and "ai developer relations". Good to know people realize outreach is important. cheers and celebrations to professor fry!
amazingamazing··on SpaceX Starship Flight 13 livestream [video]
which rockets have you worked on? are you in the aerospace industry?
amazingamazing··on EU fines Google €890M for competition breaches over search and apps
You are projecting. Nowhere is it claimed that USA is better. The EU has been fining for competitive purposes, so where is it? The competition, if it is not clear.
amazingamazing··on OpenAI and Anthropic unite against open-weight AI risks to their bottom line
I always laugh when people defend the big AI labs and post archive.is links. Techies love copyright and ToS violations until they are targeted.
amazingamazing··on EU fines Google €890M for competition breaches over search and apps
I didn’t see anything mentioned on tariffs in article. In any case tariffs are a dumb policy.
amazingamazing··on EU fines Google €890M for competition breaches over search and apps
By what metric is Mistral competitive? And ElevenLabs is incorporated in the USA
amazingamazing··on “We have information that Moonshot distilled Fable for the development of K3”
Sad but true
amazingamazing··on “We have information that Moonshot distilled Fable for the development of K3”
Measures to stop "distillation", rate limiting, ID verification, etc. If there were such a method that didn't harm legitimate use it would already be in place (and some things are, but they don't really work, hence the OP).
amazingamazing··on “We have information that Moonshot distilled Fable for the development of K3”
Sure, but the problem is that it hurts legit people too.
amazingamazing··on “We have information that Moonshot distilled Fable for the development of K3”
It doesn’t matter. Distillation is impossible to stop. They could release an extension that intercepts requests and in return gives you a discount like Honey and get the same data.
amazingamazing··on Back to Kagi
I have found that AI search gets me what I want faster than any traditional search engine.
amazingamazing··on OpenAI says its AI went rogue and launched 'unprecedented' cyber-attack
All chinese models are introducing themselves as claude? Why make claims trivially disproven?
amazingamazing··on OpenAI says its AI went rogue and launched 'unprecedented' cyber-attack
In your example the problem is what exactly?
amazingamazing··on OpenAI says its AI went rogue and launched 'unprecedented' cyber-attack
Who told you they were distilling? Why might they say this? Think. It’s like complaining that the top student only does well by going to office hours instead of mindlessly reading textbooks.
amazingamazing··on OverpAId – Fire your CEO. Hire the future
If execution were so easy everyone would do it.
amazingamazing··on Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber
based off what?
amazingamazing··on Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber
without any hard data one way or another your comment is worthless. "pile up subscriptions" - based on what? neither company is public. "piling up subscriber counts", "piling up API usage"? cool. how much money are they making? oh you don't know because they're not public.

the reality is one way or another that as long as there exists an alternative that a USA company could serve with the same compute rented from hyperscalers, this represents a threat, even if the extent to which is unknown

amazingamazing··on Apple defeats liability for not scanning iCloud for CSAM
It is crazy people think apple isnt on the side of privacy. Are they perfect? Not even close, but compared to the rest of big tech theyre simply on another level.

Apple could easily not do this stuff and it may even be easier to not.

amazingamazing··on Ask HN: I've told everyone about my startup and its been harder than I thought
You should watch the movie 100 meters. It is not about tech at all but does give an interesting story about the grind.
amazingamazing··on The Kimi K3 Moment
The value is simply that it is easier. The same way it is easier to ask someone who has experience for advice than reading hundreds of textbooks.
