amazingamazing··on Small models also found the vulnerabilities that Mythos found
Did mythos isolate the code to begin with? Without a clear methodology that can be attempted with another model the whole thing is meaningless
amazingamazing··on Nowhere is safe
It’s a shame there’s inherent performance cost to homomorphic encryption. If there were not it could make sense at least on the compute front to treat it as a commodity and just put it everywhere l, importantly including untrusted locations and have a control plane handle coordination for low latency.

Otherwise why not wipe out these gigawatt dcs? They don’t employ many and are of high consequence for rich countries.

amazingamazing··on Why Are Flock Employees Watching Our Children?
Now think about all of the Amazon and Google cameras that outnumber flock by an order of magnitude whose employees can also see the footage, and you conveniently can’t get public records of due to the nature of the installation.
amazingamazing··on Phone-free bars and restaurants on the rise across the U.S.
Your dog doesn’t have to be a service dog to be in the airport. For your other examples it depends on if the establishment allows dogs or not.
amazingamazing··on Phone-free bars and restaurants on the rise across the U.S.
so you're in the USA and want service dogs to be prohibited? again, where is this an issue? most people do not have service dogs...
amazingamazing··on Phone-free bars and restaurants on the rise across the U.S.
the vast majority of restaurants are already dog-free. which cities are you in where this is a problem? in Manhattan for instance basically all of them prohibit dogs under very particular circumstances like there's an outdoor area.
amazingamazing··on Critics say EU risks ceding control of its tech laws under U.S. pressure
Why no ban like china? Weak
amazingamazing··on OpenAI closes funding round at an $852B valuation

amazingamazing··on SWE-bench will hit 90% this year
I use both and think they’re comparable. AMA.
amazingamazing··on Founder of GitLab battles cancer by founding companies
The percentile ranking increase is greater between median human and 1B compared to 1B and 300B. Bad AI
amazingamazing··on Founder of GitLab battles cancer by founding companies
I must be talking to AI
amazingamazing··on Founder of GitLab battles cancer by founding companies
3 billion is ultra wealthy, you can't be serious.
amazingamazing··on Fear and denial in Silicon Valley over social media addiction trial
This site is also guilty. Why can’t you hide your karma from the top and read all comments without the unreadable colors they give downvoted comments? Forcing you to play stupid games. Unsurprising since this site is from the same Silicon Valley.

People will give excuses for this. Guess what, meta and Google have their own too.

amazingamazing··on Improving Composer through real-time RL
seems expensive. distillation is inherently impossible to defend against. sit back and let your competitors do the hard work. they'll whine and say it's illegal, but they shouldn't complain, they will reap what they sowed.
amazingamazing··on We rewrote JSONata with AI in a day, saved $500k/year
how many billions of compute are wasted because this industry can't align on some binary format across all languages and APIs and instead keep serializing and deserializing things
amazingamazing··on We haven't seen the worst of what gambling and prediction markets will do
More doomer takes. The world survived two world wars and a cold war. This stuff is nothing. Engagement bait as usual.
amazingamazing··on Open source isn't a tip jar – it's time to charge for access
True open source is dead. Ai and big tech will eat it instantly. Dual licensure is ok (AGPL+paid). You can disagree but then don’t whine when someone instantly repackages and markets your tool and gets paid when you don’t.
amazingamazing··on Discontinuation and reinitiation of dual-labeled GLP-1 receptor agonists
> It's a matter of access to hyper palatable calorie dense food. The more of it around, the more likely people are to get fat.

Now there’s something we agree on. If only we could agree that no one is stuffing cheeseburgers down people’s throat other than themselves. So close.

Once the shame around disgusting fattening food has reached a critical mass the problem will solve it self.

Ironically the excuses you make for them only worsen the issue. If fat people and the food they ate were appropriate shamed they both would cease.

FYI in Japan fat people are ruthlessly bullied. Fat people are rare. Food for thought, pun intended.

Stop tolerated junk.

amazingamazing··on Discontinuation and reinitiation of dual-labeled GLP-1 receptor agonists
If you can be disciplined about taking a drug you can about food. How do you explain correlations in obesity across cultures? Genetic superiority? Again, imho just making excuses for laziness. The same logic you’re applying here also applies to even taking the drug and picking up refills from the mail…

Also look at obesity rates across time within the same country. It’s clearly not an issue of discipline, it’s an issue of what’s being eaten.

amazingamazing··on Discontinuation and reinitiation of dual-labeled GLP-1 receptor agonists
Some things require talent like your examples, weight loss does not imho. The disparities in obesity and culture within country says it all.
amazingamazing··on Discontinuation and reinitiation of dual-labeled GLP-1 receptor agonists
Honestly don’t understand it. Feels like a lack of discipline. I was 250. Plugged in a bunch of numbers into an app and it gave me a calorie count per day. I brought a scale with me everywhere, used ChatGPT to guesstimate calories, I added 50% for good measure. A year later I’m 175. You can’t do this even with drugs you’re gonna get fat anyway.

I’m most curious about someone like me vs someone who lost the same amount on glp1 with respect to these stats

amazingamazing··on Meta Horizon Worlds on Meta Quest is being discontinued
And soon 20% of meta too
amazingamazing··on The future of Amazon coders is the present of Amazon warehouse workers
remote work was foolish for disassociating the value of swes to just code. llms are here to finish off the job. the profession will still exist of course

Not caring is not acceptance. The term is literally racist both and origin. Unfortunately they were denied being called simply Americans due to historical reasons. African American is sadly also a misnomer given that there’s barely any connection to Africa for the people generally referred to as “black”.

Notice how everyone else is called by nationality or origin.

the term black historically was used and originated in a racist manner.

amazingamazing··on Use DuckDB-WASM to query TB of data in browser
Neat. Can you use duckdb backed on another store like rocksdb or something? Also, I wonder how one stops ddos. Put the whole thing behind Cloudflare?
