amazingamazing··on Alphabet Announces First Quarter 2026 Results
AFAIK this is literally the only time google has laid more than a few thousand off at once
amazingamazing··on Alphabet Announces First Quarter 2026 Results
Why would llms replace search? It was a crazy take in 2023 and is still one today. Suppose there are no search engines and you want to find some headphones. How exactly are you doing this with llms?
amazingamazing··on OpenTrafficMap
This is an American site to be fair. Mapbox is also an American company.
amazingamazing··on He asked AI to count carbs 27000 times. It couldn't give the same answer twice
If you consider time at all what you suggest is hardly a solution. It is the most accurate, but even 50% accuracy at orders of magnitude faster to calculate would be more useful for the main use case which is losing weight.

However for diabetes accuracy is likely preferred and I’m not sure any computer vision would be palatable.

amazingamazing··on He asked AI to count carbs 27000 times. It couldn't give the same answer twice
With mass information you could infer much more from pictures. With some sort of standard cube in the picture as well as taking a picture at an angle that emphasizes all three dimensions you could also better estimate the relative volume.

It’s tractable I think, but not from a pic alone.

amazingamazing··on $1,605: average annual ad value of a U.S. Google user
True, and yet 5 describes each in the set more accurately than 25.
amazingamazing··on $1,605: average annual ad value of a U.S. Google user
If you’re going to extrapolate you should use the median, which would put it at 200B for USA.
amazingamazing··on $1,605: average annual ad value of a U.S. Google user
Presumably this only counts internet users who use Google.
amazingamazing··on The Rich and Powerful Want to Live Forever. What If They Could?
This is conjecture. No one knows.
amazingamazing··on The Rich and Powerful Want to Live Forever. What If They Could?
Why rich and powerful? Everyone, no?
amazingamazing··on Our eighth generation TPUs: two chips for the agentic era
If ai ends up having a winner I struggle to see how it doesn’t end with Google winning because they own the entire stack, or Apple because they will have deployed the most potentially AI capable edge sites.
amazingamazing··on Claude Code to be removed from Anthropic's Pro plan?
I was told Claude code was profitable on all subscriptions. Lol, turns out maybe you can be more profitable.
amazingamazing··on Anthropic says OpenClaw-style Claude CLI usage is allowed again
Guess they saw the growth of their growth shrink dramatically lol
amazingamazing··on Kimi K2.6: Advancing open-source coding
I’d believe that if they didn’t lower limits
amazingamazing··on Kimi K2.6: Advancing open-source coding
If it’s newer and efficient then why is the api more expensive?
amazingamazing··on Kimi K2.6: Advancing open-source coding
How does it erase any doubt? You’re implying Chinese things can’t be actually cheaper to produce than American which is laughable
amazingamazing··on Kimi K2.6: Advancing open-source coding
The psyop continues. Mythos until it’s released is vaporware. Notice how you can try kimi 2.6. Where is the same for mythos?
amazingamazing··on Show HN: Saunas lower nighttime heart rate more than exercise (n=59,000)
N=256
amazingamazing··on NSA is using Anthropic's Mythos despite blacklist
The goal post is the same, reproducible. Talking about a process isn’t reproducible. This entire discussion is why I feel developers are so gullible. You are defending a process that’s entirely opaque and you can’t even use. It’s crazy.
amazingamazing··on NSA is using Anthropic's Mythos despite blacklist
Again, marketing materials by Anthropic. You realize this is by anthropic themselves right? And again, not reproducible by outsiders. So useless.
amazingamazing··on NSA is using Anthropic's Mythos despite blacklist
You’re conflating types of vulnerabilities with the vulnerability itself. Take CVE-2026-4747 which was supposedly found by mythos. The actual issue here is a stack overflow. Opus can find those.
amazingamazing··on NSA is using Anthropic's Mythos despite blacklist
I do not think you need a great model to do this, just great automation. There’s a reason they haven’t open sourced the actual process in which did this, stubbing out the mythos model itself.
amazingamazing··on NSA is using Anthropic's Mythos despite blacklist
Yes, but the point is that you can actually test what I am asserting right now. Can you use mythos and reproduce anthropics claims?
amazingamazing··on NSA is using Anthropic's Mythos despite blacklist
And to think some said developers aren’t affected by marketing. The whole thing is a psyop - wow it’s so amazing we can’t give it to you.

Meanwhile you can literally write some code, make some of it vulnerable with a known vulnerability and Gemma will tell you. You can go and try it now.

There’s nothing mystique about it. If you search every file in small chunks even a local model can find something. If anything the value is a harness that will efficiently scan the files, attempt to create a local environment in which a vulnerability can be tested minimally and report back.

amazingamazing··on The insider trading suspicions looming over Trump's presidency
Personally I think they’re inherently linked. How exactly would it look like for money and politics not to be linked? Money is political. There are some low hanging fruit though like corporate personhood and super pacs.
amazingamazing··on The insider trading suspicions looming over Trump's presidency
Yeah. Lots of problems. If I could only get three wishes I’d choose implementation of score voting for presidential election and congress, introduction of recall votes and introduction of national ballot questions.

Those should fix most of the problems with time.

amazingamazing··on The insider trading suspicions looming over Trump's presidency
My hot take is that the presidential pardon will be eliminated in our lifetime.
amazingamazing··on The insider trading suspicions looming over Trump's presidency
Given the scope of all government officials it should just be the case that you cannot trade individual equities, stocks or have any outside investments wholesale.

Otherwise how could you stop it? It’s not like when you work at big co and you just stop trading their stock. You get access to information that clearly will be material potentially months in advance.

amazingamazing··on Banned by Anthropic?
if this site is legit it should collect a full (and potentially redacted) history.
amazingamazing··on Banned by Anthropic?
Surely such a site would be fair use
