alexnking··on The “Stolen” Mt. Gox Data Contained Malware That Robbed Users Of Bitcoin
Exactly - I could have believed one back office app even, but cross platform? Yeah right...
alexnking··on Dear Github, can I go home now?
As much as I hate gamification, I feel like it's probably been used for worse things...
alexnking··on An Early Retirement
Not knowing what Watsi was, this is ridiculous. Finding out they're an organization that gets donations for medical treatments, being threatened by an insurance company? Beyond ridiculous.
alexnking··on What if the critics win, and tech sector flees S.F.?
Too bad it's an all or nothing situation, it's not like they could just reduce the number of employees in the area.

If only there were some way for employees to do digital work without being in a centralized geographical location...

alexnking··on Crowd-funded HIV vaccine project sparks debate
I'm probably missing something obvious here, but who would be desperate for a vaccine?

If there were offering a cure, then I could see a complaint where they were preying on people with the disease who were desperate for a cure. Since that's not the case, do they mean the contributors, wanting to help develop the vaccine, are desperate, and being preyed upon? Because I hardly think that applies.

alexnking··on Show HN: My weekend project – Manual Viable Product
Yeah, it's still happening for me (Safari)
alexnking··on ShowHN: dweet.io – Twitter for machines
Nice! One thing I would like to see is some way to reserve names so that only I can use them – right now if I'm publishing data to http://dweet.io/follow/outdoors , anyone can easily override that with http://dweet.io/dweet/for/outdoors?no=temp&for=you - so that'd be a neat feature. Unless the idea is that handles would be shared between devices...

BTW, I'm dweeting that outdoor temperature using SmartThings and this code - https://gist.github.com/alexking/8880479

alexnking··on Requirements for DRM in HTML are confidential
Maybe instead of getting everyone to adopt Silverlight, we could just make the web more like Silverlight. Like more closed and stuff, because movies!
alexnking··on 0 A.D. Alpha 15 - Osiris
Wow, very impressive.
alexnking··on Coin: A step in the wrong direction
Somebody better call Kickstarter...
