Just the act of getting online to seek out others was super niche, so I feel like it was a bit of a "finding your own tribe" experience for me.
Agree. Plenty of non-wealthy get to attend private schools through scholarships and financial aid
This is such a great story
What have you moved on to?
Wait what, what do chameleons actually change color for then?? TIL.

So if I understand correctly, you take existing models, do fancy adjustments to them so that they behave better, and then sell access to that?
> These are both applications where Fortune 500 companies have utilized our technology to improve subpar performance from existing models, and we want to bring this capability to more people.
Can you share more examples on how your product (IIUC, a policy layer for models) is used?
> You gotta want it. Do you want it enough to go through the tremendous amount of effort it takes to learn it? Maybe you hate programming, but you want the money enough. Maybe you don’t care about the money, but you want to program every second of the day.
> Just make sure you have the drive to make it happen.
Man this is so true
This is a hilarious way of putting it, thank you
I've always wondered why this is (after all HN is basically YC) and I feel like it wasn't this way before but don't have evidence. HN leans skeptical and critical so maybe the AI wave brings that out in spades
The responsibility then is for an open source project to not be shy on calling out low quality/low effort work, have good integ tests and linters, and have guidance like AGENTS.md files that tell coding robots how to be successful in the repo.
Also anyone else remember when websites used to make Flash intros that you'd have to skip to get to the content?
What does query generation mean in this context, it’s probably not SQL queries right?
In a large enough org that experience doesn’t happen though - you have to go through and understand how the org’s infra-as-code repo works, where to make your change, and get approval for that.
Now it seems things are swinging back the other direction and articles like "Use One Big Server" are getting re-discussed: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45085029
