It will cost you a ton.
1. Piggyback of your existing auth infra (eg: ActiveDirectory or whatever you already have going on for user auth) 2. Failing that use identity center to create user auth in AWS itself
Either way means that your machine gets temporary credentials only
Alternatively, we could write an AWS CLI helper to store the stuff into the keychain (maybe someone has)
Not to take away from your more general point
We need flatpak for CLI tools
Not to take away from your point but I shall introduce you to systemd-tmpfiles
no scripts needed, it can clean up for you if you keep a list of directories/files to clean up
U-boot will not die from this
Standard AAA or AA can be rechargeable so you don’t need to keep buying more. I’d suggest buying like a 100 pack or something, they’re not expensive.
He wouldn’t disclose any details to me but from point of view S3 was best in class
L7 is a principal engineer - typically effecting change at org level which will impact many teams
Yeah, I guarantee you that the guy who worked at Amazon as a Principal Engineer for 10 years has a bigger portfolio than you.
levels.fyi says $967k/yr average compensation at that level.
how will your client know if you backend lambda crashed or whatever? All it knows is the upload to s3 succeeded
Basically you’re turning a synchronous process into asynchronous
Yes
>inb4 buy a battery bank
Have the users upload to s3 directly and then they can either POST you what they uploaded or you can find some other means of correlating the input (eg: files in s3 are prefixed with the request id or something)
I agree this is annoying and maybe I’ve been in AWS ecosystem for too long.
However having an API that accepts an unbounded amount of data is a good recipe for DoS attacks, I suppose the 100MB is outdated as internet has gotten faster but eventually we do need some limit
for me it feels like I have to spend all day fighting with folks who are constantly “holding it wrong” and using libraries and frameworks in really weird/buggy ways who then seem completely uninterested in learning.
In my free time I love working on my own projects because I don’t have to deal with this bullshit and I can just craft things finely without any external pressure.
process isolation is less prominent
Math.floor(Math.random() * (max - min + 1)) + min;
(Google AI summary says this is the thing)The CSS function would be random(min, max)
Also the CSS function seems to take a number of steps, it is not immediately obvious to me how to do that with Math.random()
They work fine performance-wise. The example of Reddit’s website being shit is just pointing out that Reddit’s website is shit.
Google maps web applications also works really well. Both Photopea and Google Maps are far more complex than reddit.
At this point I am sure reddit’s website is shit so people are forced to use their app so they can track users better. Not because of some underlying limitation of web technologies.
Maybe they are hated by nerds on reddit and hackernews.
I gather most people are just using the apps and have no idea how they’re built.
You download a DMG file or something, then you drag and drop some icon into your “applications” folder
It is kind of dumb. I haven’t seen any graphical package manage interface to handle this.
I don’t want to have to evaluate a shell script to figure out how a system service is supposed to start
There was never a point in which it successfully did anything.
1. Tried to use macOS’s toolchain (m2 laptop so this is not going to work to build x86 binary)
2. It tried to fix that and failed multiple times.
3. Eventually I gave up on it trying to fix itself and told it to just use a container with Fedora Linux on it to work around the issue.
4. It created Dockefile for Fedora 39 (current is 42)
3. It still fails to recognize that we are on aarch64 and we need x86 so the container it built was not correct anyway lol
I imagine “minimal bootloader + printing hello” is quite represented in the training set as there’s thousands of projects like this on GitHub.
If it cannot deal with basic things like this, I legitimately don’t get all the comments here praising it
depend() { need net }
# Export some ENVs for it export SERVER_ADDRESS="0.0.0.0:8088"
name="my-program" description="My program" command="/usr/local/bin/my-program" # If it does not know how to background iself command_background=true pidfile="/run/${RC_SVCNAME}.pid" # To have logs output_log="/var/log/${RC_SVCNAME}.log" error_log="/var/log/${RC_SVCNAME}.err"
It seems that it still uses Turing-complete shell scripts as configuration. Hard pass.
